It took a village...

I have to write this tonight, because I am not sure that I can tomorrow night.... We often hear 'it takes a village' for this and that. I think it took a village to get Chelsey and Colby to that stage tomorrow night. Grand parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, their sister, and friends have all said "I can't believe they are graduating!" I can't either honestly...it has taken a village to get them there. That village is every sister, grand parent, aunt , uncle, cousin and friend that has ever worried about, loved, and wondered about those two. There is also a group that will be watching from above....My Granny Spencer, Pa Bill, Papa Dosey, Granny Bobbie, uncle Donny and many others, the five I have named will be particularly be missed tomorrow night, because I am 100% certain they would have loved to see it. As we all sit and watch it unfold tomorrow night, I take comfort that this group is sitting together smiling above...as we smile here. This is my thank you to each of you for being such and important part of Chelsey and Colby's life and I can't wait for us to all see the next chapter together, worrying about them, loving them and wondering about them each day. We all had a little hand in is village.... Much love and a tear or two, PK P.S. ONE.MORE.DAY!!!!!!

Grasshoppers!

Danny and I slept until 11:30 today then we were up and off for a ride...so we headed up to Texoma. (yes, I love it up there!). We rode around several marinas, crossed over into Oklahoma and then back to Texas. On our way home, I noticed all this "stuff" on the road. After a while I realized that it was grasshoppers...all over the road. Danny thought I was nuts as usual, until he finally realized that I was correct! Crazy....other things we saw were a deer that had been hit, a sign that said "heifers AND quail for sale" and the best of all was a sign for a veggie stand that was "one / corter mile ahead". Made me laugh! Two work days then I am off Thursday for Graduation and Friday to recover! Have a good week all PK

Senior Prank Week...ugh!

Senior Pranks complete. One is going to cost us $107.00 for the damages. The other, no cost, thank goodess..the no cost one was a beach scene at the school parking lot. I asked 1) no truck load of sand? Nope. 2). No suntan oil disbursed? Nope. 3) Everyone have clothes on? Yep 4) Absolutely no way to get arrested, fined or cause me to have to write a check or hit an ATM? Nope. And absolutely, positively, no way they can take away walking the stage for diploma? Okay... I will just let you wonder about the other one and guess who was involved in which prank. F.I.V.E. More days....practicing my Momma Dance this afternoon! Watch for the headlines Friday morning. "Mom spends peaceful night in jail...after storming the stage for her Momma Dance, at twins Graduation". I will let someone know where I hide the bail money, just don't rescue me too quickly!!! Pam

One week from tonight!

One week from tonight....one of the things I have worried about for over 18 years will have a CHECK mark beside it. When I was pregnant with the kids, I worried myself sick about stuff that was what seemed like 100 years away. One was graduation TIMES TWO. Could we get them this far? Would they make good grades? Would it be hard to have them in two different classes? Would people compare them? Would their being premature cause any learning issues? Would they graduate together? Would they watch out for each other? Would they even act as if they were related? Would I have the patience for homework times TWO? could I even figure out their homework? Would every special project be TIMES TWO? Would we make it thru day care, pre school, elementary school, Junior High and High School? In one week, the CHECK mark should be there for all...or at least let's hope so! Pam

The same dress

Chelsey and Shelby have the same taste...they have the same dress for grad,Bacc. The text said WE have to get another one MOM. My reply....you can, I am done! Forget that the dress could be a pillow case, as long as it is white. It's under the cap/gown for gosh sakes! The drama continues.....NINE days...single digit baby!!!! PK
