Memorial Day fun!

Megan...the Butterfinger Cake is almost gone! And i made it around lunch time today. I highly recommend it! And Kay, the pickles....YUM. So easy, and they were fabulous. I will share the easy recipe. One jar of dill sliced pickles 32 ounce. Drain all the juice off. Pour into a container that you can seal with a lid. Discard the juice, keep the pickles (that part cracked me up Kay). Add 2 cups of sugar, a tablespoon of minced garlic, and. Teaspoon of tobasco. I llet it sit on the counter for 2 hours and shook it all around to keep it stirred up. Then to the frig. They were wonderful! Almost all gone...Tyler's little brother, Brendon, said "Mrs Pam, you sure cook good!". J made chicken, sausage, corn, potato salad, beans, deviled eggs, cantalope, tomatoes, cucumbers, and the pickles and cake. Then.....i hit the lake to fish. Got some sun, fished with Tyler and the boys. Colton caught another huge crappie. He realed it in like it was no big deal. We managed to not "jack up" the rod and reels today. Had a blast....sent all the fish home with Tyler's grandpa Joe.

Now i am tired...so off to bed i go.

Those boys...

Dylan and Colton came home with us Saturday night and spent the night. They were in the pool until after 11pm. Both wanted to watch tv afterwards, so i put them in my bed, all propped up on pillows with the tv on and i went in 10 minutes later to check on them and both were cashed out. I moved Dylan to sleep with Danny and Colton slept with me. When i woke up yesterday morning, i had a black eye, well purple on the top, that is. I told Colton he must have done it. The look on his face....priceless! It was probably from going down the bouncey slide the day before, at the reunion, but i didnt tell him that! We left for breakfast at Swaggers and came back. I put hot dogs, hot links and sausage in a roaster pan, made broccoli salad, cream corn and baked beans and was on the pier with the boys by 1pm, after they swam for a while. We all caught a bunch of fish. I only came back to the house twice between 1pm and 8pm and that was for a bathroom break! We had a blast. Colton got his line all "jacked up" (his word not mine) so i unstrung it and fixed it. Then i drew back to throw it out and backlashed it again. He told his Daddy i did it!

They decided to spend the night again, so Ashley and Tazz went home and had quiet night #2. The boys fell asleep in my recliner and i put them to bed, but this time, i put Colton with Danny. We'll see if he has a black eye when he wakes up! Tyler fished with us too, amd played Uno with the boys tonight. I sure do love that kid! Colby went to a movie and Chelsey went to Celina's Bacculartte and spent the night with a friend afterward.

Today it's chicken, beans, potato salad and pickles! Kay sent me the recipe for her hot pickles. Love them! Headed to the store now to get the stuff to make me a jar. It's dill pickles, drained, add sugar, tobasco, garlic and something else... Have to look back at the recipe again. Oh, and i am going to make the butterfinger cake Megan posted. And after that? Well.....i think we will fish some more!

Softball Team WON last night...exciting slide by Shelby at the bottom of the 7th won it 7-6..... I think everyone at the ball park was on their feet as she rounded third and the outfielder was throwing it home. And she Scored!!! Guess wewill be Austin bound next weekend.

Speaking of next weekend...Colton was picked for the All Star Team. He will play next Sunday. Cant wait to watch him!

Today is family reunion time, for The Fenter's. On the hunt for an easy recipe, maybe a salad of some sort. And Danny requested deviled eggs too.

Long weekend

Just have to make it thru today.....and then have a much needed long weekend! Looking forward to it. The softball girls won last night...one game between them and the state tournament that begins Thursday in Austin. They play in Allen this afternoon....2nd of a two game series, if they win, it's over, if we lose, game 3 to finish the series will be Saturday.

Today is Chelsey's last day of class. She's exempt from all her exams. Maybe she can help Colby study for all of his! Their Junior year has flown by.

Gotta hit the shower and go finish up May closings.

Storms....

So....i bailed on my trip to Georgia. Way too busy at work to leave....so i stayed behind to enjoy the storms tonight. Just got home from work 10 minutes ago. If it is going to storm, it happens in Celina and Lewisville. The distancee between had me holed up in the office working, until the storms broke up enough to make it home. Sirens were going off at work, Colby was texting, Dad called, Chelsey texting, Danny texting...giving me a hard time about how clear it was in Georgia, oh and the lady from Chelsey's little bump called $800 to fix her bumper. I think i am going to buy she and Colby bicycles.....that would sure shake them up!

Off to bed i go...night all and Megan, i am glad to hear Jeff made it safe and sound to work.

4 hearts are better than one...

Good morning and happy Sunday!

Saturday was spent in Frisco.....a little girl time with my Chelsey! Manicure, pedicure, a little shopping, spray tan , Dairy Queen and home. Danny and i had planned on a 4pm softball game, but Chelsey and i didnt get home until 5pm.....so.......Danny and i jumped in the car and headed to Lovejoy, late as it was, and caught the last inning and a half of the game. They won! It was tied 3-3 when we got there and it ended at 6-5, so we got to see the excitement of the win.

After that we headed down Hwy 5, with the plan to watch the Mavs game and have a beer. We ended up and Ink ink, which it the Tattoo place in McKinney....i added to my birthday tattoo. I now have swirls and 4 hearts instead of 1. I now have Danny, Ashley, Colby and Chelsey on my wrist forever. Not the names, just a heart for each one. Hector made the hearts red, so it is very pretty. Still not brave enough to get one on my foot....maybe someday.

After the tattoo, we stayed on Hwy 5 and headed to Anna for a beer. The bar was so dang loud, we had 2 and left. Aren't we the party couple.

More "happening around our house".... On our way home Chelsey and i saw a motorcycle wreck. The guy was laying in the deep part of the ditch, and aseveral people had already stopped. A mangled red motorcycle was up in the trees. This was on a big curve near the house. Although a fun curvey road, it's also a dangerous one, with no shoulder....hope the guy was okay. We did see Careflight flying above, which is a good sign...that means he was alive. 30 minutes after we saw the wreck, one of my employees text that her Dad has just been in a motorcycle wreck. My heart sank...but after asking, she said he was headed to Grandbury, which is south, so it was not her Dad that we saw.

As for my spray tan....i will say, fat looks better brown! I have never spray tanned before, Chelsey went in with me to explain how to stand, where to put lotion, etc. Then she left me on my own to strip and be blasted....and dried.....and then turn brown after about two hours. I am not sure that i'll ever lay out again, not that i do anymore anyway!

Today....what to do, what to do....i think i shall fish, maybe. Colby and Kevin went to the Lake Lavon bridges last night and came home with catfish. They had a blast.

When Chelsey and Colby go to school tomorrow, they will be two weeks away from officially being Seniors. Seems like only yesterday they were fighting over a sippy cup and getting their diapers changed.

Happenings around Weston...

Well....it's been a tough week for the tiny town of Weston, which is two miles from our house. Tuesday an old friend of C and C and his girlfriend had a wreck on the long straight away of 455, going toward Weston. His girlfriend was ejected and died. He went to the hospital, but is home now. Very sad.

If you watched the news Wednesday night, a man drug his wife by a rope, behind his truck, and she died. That was here as well. Crazy!

Colby and friends just told me the cougar was spotted across the road from OUR HOUSE yesterday.....i must learn to load a gun. If that sucker ever joins me in the garage, only one of us will get out and i hope it is me! Remember my "gunshots" post the other day? Somebody better kill that thing. It's making me very nervous!

No plans this weekend, except softball and putting together a life size Monopoly Game for work least it will be a fun project for me. Have to drag out our Monopoly game and study the board, so i can get it all planned out. Hope everyone has a great weekend and that it stops raining soon! Don't say "we need it" Wait until Monday, while i am in the office, not on the weekend. Oh, i fly out Tuesdaymorning for Jacksonville, Florida and then we drive an hour to St Simon Island, Georgia for a two day meeting. So i REALLY need good weather to return, because i hate flying in the rain and storms....

Driving home from work...i text Chelsey, she's at Dylan's game with Danny. Okay, check, two down.

Then i text Colby, and say"whatcha doing?". His reply? I am at the public library reading....i almost had to pull over! Instead i text back and ask WHO had stolen my sons phone?

Random Wednesday thoughts...

Colby was too sick to his stomach Monday, to go to school....but all the minnows were gone when i got home to fish for a little while. Hum..

Yesterday we had a little tiff at the FFF, and today Colby was weed eating when i called on my way home. Hum.

Cell rang this afternoon, CISD on my caller ID, "Chelsey was absent for the following classes today - pause....8th" Well, she got 7 of them, what's the problem? She said she was in the Library. Hum.

Chelsey had a Spanish project to do tonight. She had to read a few sentences in Spanish, while being recorded. So......she wrote the words on a sheet of paper, taped it to Colby's belly and he filmed her, with her cell phone, while she spoke spanish oh so well. Then she said WELL, it's not MY language Mom. Hum.

2 1/2 more weeks of school. Hum. I bet this is not my last post with antics such as those above. Hum.

Sunday...

Ifeelliketodaywentbyjustlikethissentence.....

Mom and Dad left after breakfast. I sat around (yea right) for a little while then headed to Princeton for flowers. Back, unloaded amd went fishing with Tyler and Junior. Not as much luck today as yesterday. Tyler and i were sitting on the pier and we both turned around to see a swarm of BEES headed for us. We both ducked and they flew by. Hundreds of them! Then....other people were fishing on the other side of the lake so we sat and watched. All of a sudden....they all (5 of them) jumped up and all jumped in the front of their truck. Tyler and i laughed so hard. I have never seen so many bees! Glad they didnt stop at us, we might have had to jump in the water.

After fishing a while, i came up and cooked dinner. Salmon patties, squash, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, fresh canalope, tomatoes, it was really good!

Then....i went out and planted almost all of the flowers i bought. All but 4 flats.....yes, i bought ten! They better live to be beautiful!

Now? Dishes of course.....and then i have to go back to work tomorrow, so i can rest....LOL. Yea right, again!

Fishing...

Finally got to fish with my Daddy today! We were supposed to do that on April 2nd. Was worth the wait. I caught more than he did! Good to have him sitting there in a chair on the pier....

Girls won today, next is the State Semi Finals....we think they will play Henderson. Not sure where. Just hope it is WARM. This cold front is for the birds, it is almost June for gosh sakes.

Off to watch tv and talk with Mom and Dad.

Blogger site down!

Our Blog is two years old and i cant remember it ever being down, but it happened yesterday...as you can see, it is back up now. It's funny, i feel like i may have missed something with Kelley's Korner and her girls Harper and Hollis. And Hayden, what did i miss? And Carla....And Paul and Morgan, what have you been up too? And did Zak and Colson do anything on Katie's Keepers blog? And did Jeannine write that once a week post that always makes me laugh? And Kelly, has Kaden grown? Is Grace saying cheese and Parker hiding from the camera? And did Bakerella make cool new cake pops? Cant wait for everyone to update....post away, post away, post away all!

Mom and Dad, are you coming up tomorrow afternoon or Sunday? Too late to call and ask you...either way works for us, we will probably go watch the girls softball team at 1pm in McKinney and if they lose, they turn around and play again. Considering they won last night, 14-0, i'd bet it's a one game day... Just call my cell, if you cant get us at home.

Traffic!

Well.....this morning, somehow a Coca Cola truck caught fire on 35 near 121. Traffic was at a stand still on multiple roads. I do not even travel 35, because it is a parking lot, but the effects spilled on to 121, so....my usual 40+- minute commute took an hour and 35 minutes. Not a good start to my day! People were cutting thru the grass to get out of the mess. I, being a law abiding citizen (forget that i drive 80 in 121 the rest of the time) stayed with it until i could legally exit! I can't risk a flipping ticket, with 2 seventeen year olds to set an example for!

Tomorrow should be better, as long as Coke is not making up for a fire with multiple trucks!

A little bump...

As usual, let me say, no one was injured.....Chelsey calls me late this afternoon and says "Mom, i just hit someone". After i take abreath, i ask, "are you okay? Is the other person okay? Is your car okay? Is the other persons car okay?". The answers? Yes, yes, yes and yes. Whew...thank goodness. She bumped a lady at the light here in Celina. She pulled over, gave all her info, gave the insurance, looked all her car and the other one, and headed home. Then she fell to pieces on me. The Lexus bumper was popped loose on both sides and she got dark paint on it. I hit the bumper on both sides, and it popped right back in. Then a little elbow grease got the dark paint off of it. And then her phone rang....the other lady got home and her back bumper is (plastic) cracked. Sooooooo, we get to fix that. She said her neck hurt (here we go) but that it hurts all the time anyway....we shall see what comes of this "little bump".

Colby was safe amd sound at home watching tv. Being innocent, for once! Let's hope this is not a wind up for Friday, which is the 13th. Ugh...

Mother's Day

Happy Monday morning,

Brunch with Ashley, Tazz, Colton, Dylan, Susie, Otis, Danny, Colby, and Chelsey in Anna at Crow's. Took my Mother's Day cash and bought worms, minnows, and shrimp and YES, as soon as i got home, about 12:30pm, i headed down to the lake and fished until almost 7 o'clock.
Had a great time! Tyler and his grandparents, his Mom, and brothers spent the day down there with me. Tyler would say "Mom" and we'd both answer. It was too funny!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all....today's plans are to meet Ashley, Tazz and the boys for an early lunch in Anna, then i hope to put a minnow on a hook for the rest of the day, and just enjoy doing nothing.

Made a quick trip east yesterday....saw Mom and Dad. Dad looks really good and feels much better. Was nice to see him in his recliner, instead of a hospital bed. Carla, i hope you enjoy your day playing with your new iPhone. And yes, much better for you than last year. We left Emory and headed to Greenville (well actually Cash) to see Mary, Judy, Susan and Donny. Stopped at Catfish Heaven on the way home, so i couple have their salad bar amd garlic/jalapeno pickles. Love them!

To all that read our blog, i hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day. Still curious who is from Boston, wish you'd let me know who you are.

Softball again

Picked Chelsey up from home and headed to Allen for the girls softball game. Playoff time! They were tied in the 6th, so it went to extra innings...8th inning, we are home, last bat, two on base, two outs...a hit to short left field that takes a hop. Third base over throws 1st amd SCORE! They won. Today at 1pm, we will go back. Best of 2 in the series moves on. If they get beat in the first game, we turn around and play 30 minutes later. Some of these girls are from the teams Chelsey used to play on 10 years ago. Lots of fun to see them play now. Hope they make it to Austin....they are ranked #1 in the state for 3a. So much talent in this little town!

Have a great Saturday all...and Mom and Dad, we will probably head down late this afternoon for a visit. Will call and let you know.

Gun shots...

Just heard gun shots outside...wonder if someone is cougar hunting? Tyler's Grandpa was here just a bit ago and he's had two goats end up dead and partially eatten, so he is convinced that the cougar is still here. Lovely....after he told me that, i high tailed it back up to the house, from the lake. Course if something had jumlped out at me as i walked, i probably would have peed myself...

Company picnic was today. They shot 150 t-shirts from a sling slot. I worked in peace, while every one else was at the picnic. I did run up there and have a couple of hamburger patties amd pickles. I called it my "lean and green" meal for the day. Dance contests, tug of war, bounce house sort of things....i am too old for all that!

Glad Friday is near again. Ashley asked what i wanted for Mother's Day. My reply? Minnows... Perfect gift for me!

Danny is watching "Hogs Gone Wild" at the moment...or shall i say he is snoring thru it. If i touch the remote, he will wake up, so i think i will just head to bed instead.

Butt dialing...

Ever get a butt dial call? Or make one on accident? My dear sister does it ALL the time. This afternoon it happened and i hear what sounds like a motorcycle in the background....so i hang up, give her a few minutes and call her back. No answer....all sorts of "oh my gosh, i hope she is okay" thoughts start going thru my mind. So.....i text her. No reply. 2 hours later, she replies "yes, butt dial, i was weed eatting!". Okay...so it wasnt a moforcycle, whew.... Funny thing is, if i ever accidentally butt dial, it's always to her as well. Crazy how that happens. Least we always think of each other, LOL. Love you Carla!

What's next?

Now that prom is over and school is winding down, i do not have any major projects to worry about....maybe the house will sell now. It would be the perfect time!

Thought the pier might go under water, with all the dang rain, but it didnt. I could see something down in the water yesterday, near the pier, but had no idea what it was. This afternoon, it was still there, so Danny goes down in a jacket and shorts, me in my pj's and house shoes, in the Kubota (yes....another red neck moment!) to check it out...it was a duck decoy. Least now i know, and do not have to wonder. I think Danny goes on those little adventures with me, just so i will shut up!

I mentioned a cougar the other night, in Celina....well it turns out it is in Weston! A mile and a half from our house! Now.....remember, i am terrified of the dark, so if you think for one second i will step foot outside at the moment, after dark, you are crazy! There is a sign at the post office, that a cougar has been sited 3 times of recent in the immediate area. I shall not type about it anymore, or i'll never be able to sleep.

C and C are all good this week. Nothing to fuss about, run after, take back, forget, etc. Ahhhhh....it is so nice when it's peaceful at the FFF. Now...let's not do anything to wreck that thought.

So much news about Bin Laudin.....glad they got him, but sad it took almost 10 years. I do not think we have heard the last of him and I hope fighter jets are making sure his body does not float to the surface. One of Chelsey's friends lost her Daddy in Iraq about 4 years ago. This is as close as i have gotten to the nightmare that man created. Hope we do not get any closer!

Love you all, sorry it's kinda boring tonight, but i am actually enjoying boring for a few days!

All beautiful....all slept until after noon and all just left. Danny is napping, WHAT the heck did he do? Plant flowers? Lily is exhausted from being a guard dog all day, Chelsey is tagging everyone she knows on Facebook, and Colby ran to take Tyler home. Sure do love the whole group, especially now that Prom 2011 is behind us.
