Closet...

Never touched the dining room today. Decided to full out clean out my side of the closet. Does one really need 40+ pair of undies? I think not.... Out with the old under clothes, about 30 pair of shoes, trouser socks with no match, scarves that I've had for 10 years...the list is endless and NOW I can FINALLY say, it's perfect...well except, I still need to go thru and purge a few purses. Check it out!
As for Prom, which is quickly approaching, Saturday....we got Chelsey's extensions this afternoon at Sally Beauty Supply. And, best of all, with no fight what so ever!
As for employment....still waiting on final info for the full time job. Still have the Temp Job to start Monday. Decisions decisions...
Happy Thursday...
Pam

Waiting....and waiting....and waiting some more!

Wednesday is now a blur....day was spent walking the floors, waiting to hear back from Tuesday's interview. Can't just walk the floors, SOOOO, I cleaned out our (or I should say MY side of our closet). Three piles of clothes, almost 3 feet high. INSANE!

Today, I shall clean out the office and dining room. I've set up a "make shift office" in our formal (i.e. use it twice a year room), and now I need to convert it back! Just a few more things to clean up and I'll have the inside of the house showroom ready to list for sale....then, will have to work on the outside...

Happy Thursday, now let's see what this day brings!

Quick diet update...

My EXTREME DIET is working.....6 pounds lighter this morning that I was on Monday, yea!

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Monday and Tuesday catch up

Spent entire day Monday cleaning out ALL kitchen cabinets and drawers. My back hurt so bad, I actually went to bed before 10pm, which never happens... Good news is the kitchen looks great. Now....I found 7 ice cream scoops, 26 serving spoons and 21 spatulas. What was I thinking?

Today....interview in Lewisville....went well, I think. Should hear back tomorrow. If it doesn't work out, I still have the Temp Job available. Either way, it appears I'll be driving to work on Monday!!!

Pam

P.S. I've also started what I'd call an EXTREME DIET...4 pounds in 2 days so far. Goal is to follow it for a minimum of 21 days and a maximum of 40 days...I think I can, I think I can!

Windy Sunday...

What a windy Sunday! Temp said 75 degrees, but sure felt cold to me! (notice the underline again? grrrrrr). Colton and Dylan spent the night with us. They "went mudding" in the Kubota, as Colton says. Played basketball and we also made Ashley's Mother's Day present. They are so much fun! Few pictures are below.

"Hugs and Kisses"
Mother's Day present for Ashley
The boys and I made these with a Styrofoam ball, Hershey's Hugs and Kisses,
a stick, flower pots and hot glue gun. Love doing crafts with the boys!

And they played basketball....
And we had a rabbit for about an hour....
Colby and Ashley went to Tyler's house and this is what they returned with.
After about 30 minutes, he climbed out thru the bars and Duke went CRAZY!
Rather than have to wrestle our Lab, Colby returned the rabbit,
much to Colton and Dylan's dismay. His name was Dexter, according to Colton.
Starting a diet today.....500 calories of very specific food per day, along with vitamins and HCG Drops 3 times per day. Have been following this diet on FB, and several have lost a lot of weight really quickly, including someone that I actually know. We shall see how it goes....

The lake hasn't been this calm in months!!! Looks like glass....

Back home...

Say hello to Carla's new little friend.....
Our finished landscape job....looks BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Carla and Paul's house in Winnsboro.... Course the picture Carla sent this afternoon of a SNAKE in the flowerbed made me shutter just a bit. What a blast we had, but I'm also glad to be back home with Danny, the kids and Lily. Will have to take them on the next trip.

Winnsboro Trip.....

As if I hadn't trimmed enough trees and planted enough flowers.....today I took off to Winnsboro, to visit my sister and brother in law, and what did we do? See below..... Paul had lots of fun with the extension saw.

Trees trimmed....check

Flower beds cleaned out, check
(Carla CAN NOT back the trailer by the way! )
Working in the flower beds.
We had a great time. Found a lizzard and a worm, of which I promptly threw at Carla.... Found the water line, and stopped one whack prior to cutting it. It is amazing the difference in the dirt here versus at our house.... No wonder the azaleas grow 4-5 foot tall there! Once the final flowers are planted in the morning, I'll post an updated picture.
Night, night from East Texas.....

Tick tock tick tock....

It's Monday night at 9:57pm and all I hear is a clock and a button on Chelsey's jeans banging away in the dryer. Everyone is asleep.... Today was work out, school, workout, dinner, sleep for Colby. For Chelsey, school, dinner, Dallas' house, laundry, sleep. Danny and I went into Frisco to meet a former co-worker of mine for lunch. I was her lab rat for a research paper....hope she makes an A. Afterward we stopped at Joanne's and headed home. Spaghetti for dinner, watch 24 with Danny (just as agitated as always with this show, but can't give it up!). About to hit the sack. Night all, and Happy Monday.

Pam

P.S. Jeannine, love that you've started a blog. Sorry that I've made you cry with ours.....just have a heavy heart at times. XOXO

More Birthday Photos....

Danny and Dylan on the Sky Coaster

Hard to believe 9 years have passed since I was in the hospital room
as this little bundle of joy arrived,
he curled up in a ball and slept on my shoulder many times,
Ashley and I had a fight or two over him,
he grew and started calling me Nana,
he lost his Daddy to early to even remember him,
He's a bit strong willed (compliments of his Mom I'm sure)
but he's oh so special to Danny, Colby, Chelsey and I.
We love you Dylan, Happy Birthday!

One year of blogging....

I realized today, that tomorrow will be one year since I started our blog....I've written about Chelsey and Colby, Danny, the dogs, the house, friends, special events, relatives, Bingo, several holidays, and get togethers..... Never did I mention work on the blog, no matter how great or how stressful, I've just never gone there on our personal space called The Fenter Funny Farm.

The funny thing is, I have only recently realized that The Fenter Funny Farm has been flying by me at mach speed for so many years, and I was working my tail off, making sure that everyone had what they wanted, everything was just so so, and never considered what I had missed out on.

As I sit typing this, I have tears streaming down my face....maybe it's the sad song on the ACM's, but I really think it's all about the past that happened, and I never stopped to enjoy it.

In the last 7 1/2 weeks, I've watched TV (without other things on my mind), enjoyed precious time with my husband, had breakfast at Starbucks (in sweats), joked and laughed with the kids (and a fight or two as well), had warm cookies waiting when they arrive home from school, enjoyed a track meet or two, painted a few things, driven with my windows down (who cares about the hair), am now certain what day the trash is picked up, have gone days/weeks without wearing black slacks, spent fun time with the one of the most fabulous daughter's in the world (Ashley), visited the school, planted flowers, trimmed trees, enjoyed lunch with my beautiful sister, driven the tractor, had dinner with Mom and Dad on a week night, created and burned brush piles, kissed Dylan and Colton before they left for school, washed many dishes, cooked many meals, actually walked into Chelsey and Colby's room more than once in a blue moon, bought cheap paper towels, taken the kids to school and even picked them up, folded WARM laundry, used coupons, laughed a little more, cried a little harder, worried about things other than my job, and have (as the song says, from my all time favorite movie, Dirty Dancing) "Had the Time of my Life."

I know that my time at home will come to an end soon, but I shall never let myself get so wrapped up in something, that I forget what is important....The Fenter Funny Farm and all that it encompasses.... Oh, I'll focus and work hard, no matter where I land, but I'll also stop and smell the roses, stand in the rain, and love everything and everyone I hold dear.

Happy Birthday to our blog....thanks for allowing me to record memories, that I was not always a part of, and I can't wait to fill more pages....

Pam

Rainy, lazy cold Sunday...

Breakfast, nap, grocery store, dinner, in that order. Anyone want to wash all the dishes, while I watch tv? Didn't think so...

XOXO,
Pam

P.S. Grocery store of choice today was Kroger. I haven't been in 2 weeks, so I had a cart FULL of groceries....get up to the register, someone helps me unload to the belt, checker is really speedy, two people sacking. Now, mind you, I arrived at the register with one card, but by the time they put 2-3 things per sack (not cost effective on bags!), it takes two carts to get me to the car. After getting everything bagged, the girl looks at me and asks if I need help out. Okay I have TWO carts, so my answer was "Yes...please." She takes one cart, I take the other and when we get to the car, she looks at me and asks... "Need help loading it into the car?" I was just agitated enough to say "NO thank you." I swear, this is the reason I cut Kroger off from the Fenter Funny Farm a few years ago....BUT they had steak on sale, so I suffered thru it.

Rides at Speed Zone

Dylan's Birthday Party at Speed Zone....I didn't attend, but Danny, Dallas, Chelsey and Colby did! Although the videos are long...trust me, both are well worth watching!

Can't believe our sweet Dylan is 9 now.... Ashley is forwarding pictures of the party, so watch for an updated post.

I spent the morning with my friend Kyle, her twins Olivia and Brody (they are 4 now) and Gracen who turned 10 recently. Their neighborhood garage sale was in full swing, even in the rain. Brody grabbed a dollar and said "I want to go shooopppinnnnggg Mrs. Pam." So off we went. Ran to McKinney then came home to watch it rain some more. Dinner with Colby and Danny, and fast asleep by 11pm.

A bit tired...

After 4 days....Danny and Duke are tired. Lily and Duke
have made every step with us this week, in the tree trimming,
fence line cleaning, flower planting, fertilizing, etc.
Everything looks great, so well worth all the effort!

SSSSsssssss.....

Ashley's new shrubs!

Applied for a couple more jobs on line this morning, first thing. Took Chelsey and Colby to school, then headed to McKinney. Ashley and I met at Starbucks, then off to Calloway's Nursery, to buy shrubs for her flower bed. After getting just what she wanted, we headed to her house to plant. I started out by setting all the plants in place (still in the pots), just as we'd planned them. While doing so, I hear SSSSSssssssss. I looked at Ashley, mind you she has dug this flower bed up TWICE due to a water leak, and said "I think the leak is back!" We open the box and like a fountain, water shoots out. We run and turn off the water at the street, I call Danny and she calls Tazz. While waiting to hear back, we plant at both ends of the flower bed. I head home...and help Danny, Aloya, and Homer finish up with the tree cutting/trimming. I'm now glad to say that Ashley just sent a picture mail, above, that the leak is fixed AGAIN, and she has now planted all the shrubs. Let's hope third time is a charm. I've heard her curse before, but WOW, she was not a happy Ashley when we discovered it today....

Poultry judging....really???

Chelsey and team made a trip to Texas A&M Commerce today, to attempt qualification for State in Poultry Judging. They came in 7th, and top 5 get to go. She was disappointed that they missed it by only 6 points. I think they had a good time at CiCi's in Greenville, putting on fake tattoos. (She's holding her shirt up to show the one on her belly) She came home with FOUR total! Good times..... She's in the green Baylor shirt.

Eatting, eatting eatting...

Colby and I went to Anna for pizza this afternoon. Seems like that kids eats ALL the time....

Lake view

Aloya, Homer, Danny and I are ALMOST finished with the fence line.....This is the view from our pool deck, down towards the lake now. It was COMPLETELY grown up with vines, trees, old dead trees, and a little trash. Beautiful! Tomorrow we should be able to finish... Another tired day, but I will say that sleeping is not an issue for Danny or myself, after working out in the beautiful sunshine all day.

All clean!

Another day outside again! Cleaned front and back patios. Danny cut trees, so we can see more of the lake from the house. Two laborers cleaned ALL the grass from my flower beds. Cleaned concrete driveway in front of the house. Everything looks wonderful!!! A few photos below... (Again, can't turn the underline off, grrr)
Front walkway clean, check!

Patio clean, check!

Everything all nice and tidy!

Everything looks beautiful! I'll have a BIG reveal of the lake view....as soon as a few more trees come down. Exhausted again....

Texas Stadium....

Going
Going

Gone

In just a matter of seconds, it was all a pile of rubble. I've enjoyed one Cowboys game at Texas Stadium, many playoff games, and even a couple of state championships. Celina was the last High School Football Team to play on this field, and Colby was on the field! I agree with those interviewed last night on the news, it will be very strange to not see the Stadium as I drive down 35.....

OMG....I can barely move!

Walking just a bit "stove up" at the moment.... Let me summarize my day. Up at 6:30am. Coffee, search internet for jobs (applied for one), off at 7:30:am to hit Crump's Nursery semi annual sale. Bought 13 flats of flowers plus 3 additional potted ones. Back home by 8:30 and hit the flower beds. Had everything planted by 11:30am. Shower, off with Colby to get a burger. Back and out to a big clump of cedar trees behind our barn. Went all the way around it with my clippers. You can now see thru the clump. Made 9 trips in the Kubota, to the old brush pile. Back in for another shower and I am exhausted! If we do wind up having to sell our house, at least someone will come down the driveway and say WOW, look at that! I did when we first bought the property, but it was because of the lake, not the flowers or trees being trimmed! I bet I pass out early tonight.

Colby spent the day running around with Tyler. Chelsey has had a "girls day" with friends and is at a Birthday party now, and then spending the night with Shelby. Dallas is spending time with his parents tonight and has a combine tomorrow.

Danny.....well he's got the chain saws in the shop in anticipation of picking up a couple of laborers on Monday....the plan is to clear out the fence line behind the house, so that we have a full view of the lake. Also having the carpet cleaned. I am anxious for my interview on Tuesday. I have to get back to work, this manual labor is going to kill me!

Pam

What a beautiful day!

Friday started out a bit chilly, but ended perfectly....Starbucks, Calloway's Nursery, Crumps Nursery, home to work in flower beds, picked kids up from school, dinner with Danny and asleep in recliner before 10pm.

Didn't buy a thing at Crump's, because TODAY is their semi annual sale....They open at 8am, off to get my shoes on and ready to weed my way thru tons of people to find just the right flowers for the yard! Photos to follow, I'm sure.

XO,
Pam

The big reveal....

The big reveal....Chelsey's Room is now complete! It looks beautiful!!!
The clock...

Drapes near her vanity

Birthday arrangement from Dallas' Mom.

Wall sconce near closet (of course I put in a little ORANGE!)

The leopard print bedding.

And the wall art as you walk into her room.
My instructions this morning, via text, were to PLEASE text Chelsey when her comforter arrived. Not sure who was more excited....as soon as I saw the box on the front porch, I tore into it, washed and dried the sheets (her request), and put it all in her room. Drapes were a chore, but it's so pretty and best of all she LOVES it!!!! Winner, Winner!
