Oh they were all beautiful and handsome when they drove away.......
So.....we did great today. First stoore (Sam Moon) earrings, second store shoes, Bella Salon for an up do, Great Outdoors for lunch, walked the mall for an hour, Nordstroms for make up.....she even did mine! Lowe's for flowers Drive home, make it by 3:30pm. Not bad. I start straightening the house up, with the plan to plant flowers before everyone gets here for photos. (tired yet?). Chelsey walks out at 4:00pm, 30 minutes before Conner is to pick her up, Colby is in the shower, and Chelsey says "where's the sack with my earrings and bracelet?". Ummmmmm....check your car. Nope. Check the shoes sack. Nope. "Mom, i think i left them at the shoes place.....DAMN! Frantically look for receipt with number, but of course it is in the SACK. Find number on line, call, RECORDER. Call, call, call....finally a Sam Moon guy answers (we got shoes at Shoe Mart, in Sam Moon strip). He can't understand me.....i s....l...o...w.... Down and STILL he has no idea, finally he puts a lady on the phone, YES, they have the sack....it's like 4:10 by then. So i YELL at Danny because he's not moving fast enough for me. Jump in the car and fly to Frisco.....RUN across the parking lot, thrownopen the door, the lady says "earrings?". YES, she holds up the tiny sack, i grab it and run back to the car. Jump on the tollway....but, before i get to the store, i had called another Mom to get oictures in case i do not make it. I call Danny to throw the pots of flowers in my planters and turn them so the pictures look okay, and i drive like a maniac home. Chelsey texting, Colby texting, Danny calling. I get to Celina, run by Chelsey's friends house, jump out, run down driveway, find her in back yard. Rip earrings out of package, stick them in her ears, and back up, they do NOT match....luckily, we got TWO pair. Tear the u matched ones from her ears, make the switch, back up and they are perfect! She was beautiful with TWO wrist corsages....my Princess was gorgeous. I kiss her on the cheek and run fir the car.....Danny has text two more times, everyone is at the house! As i am leaving, Chelsey and crew's Hummer limo arrives. One down one to go!
I drive like a maniac again, to the house....cars everywhere...and they are all over the front yard taking pictures. All are beautiful and handsome. I run in house, grab camera and run out for the photo op. Group pics, couples, group....then i run them all around to the backyard by the DAMN flowers that are stuck in planters with ALL their pots showing. Grrrrrrrrrr...men! I fix them, drag chairs oit of the way and we have another photo op. Cameras clicking all over the place. Then Brendan, Tyler's little brother (who is 7) says "why is there a Limo here?". Yep...you got it, pulled that off before leaving with Chelsey this morning. Woohoo!!!!!!!! They all load up, more photos, and i tell the driver, "i would not do what you do for anything!". She smiles and says she enjoys it. Off the limo goes, followed by all the parents. Danny and i look at each other, WHEW, success!
He and i then jump in the car and go to Anna to eat. We stop by Brookshires and get snacks, drinks and ice. If they are going to drink anything, it will be at our house and i will sleep with their keys! Just made all the snacks, ice down the drinks, and have finally sat down to update our blog. Now...are you tired? I am, but i am waiting up to see all of them come home at midnight via limo and Conner will bring Chelsey home.
I must say Dallas has had a rough week....he is BEYOND jealous....again, snooze you lose aroind here! I bet he picks her up as soon as Conner gets out of the driveway. Dallas text her today asking if they were coming straight home after Prom. I burst oit laughing! He went stag and said he would NOT be able to stand it if she dances...my Princess....that's even what he calls her!
Colby was so handsome and Sierra was beautiful! They looked so dang cute together. She is just a little shorter than him, so they make a great couple. She has a boyfriend in Oklahoma, where she lives, maybe he should have been Dallas' date. LOL.
I shall post pictures tomorrow. Have to get Chelsey's via email first, from an Angel Mom that took care of me on the photo op....
I am sure there will be more stories, but as of this moment, i just hope they are having fun....and everyone makes it home safe and sound...including the Limo drivers afterward!
Wonder how it will be next year? Ugh....
Love to all and it cracks me up that so many people have been checking the blog...hope my story was worth the wait!
XOXO,
Pam, Mom of the Prince and Princess, who are dancing right now...be still my heart!
P.S. I am sure this is full of type-o's, but you'll figure it out....maybe even the guy at Shoe Mart can understand it

Last year's Prom vs this year...
Last year Chelsey attended Prom as a Sophomore.....i didn't think we'd make it thru the day! Thanks to Carla and Ashley, we did. So much fuss and everything being PERFECT...beyond perfect!
This year? It is s just after 6am, and i seem to be the only one fretting.......and not able to sleep.
Colby is all set, no ride, but set. He told me last night everyone is coming here for pictures. Well okay, now i get to make sure we have a good place outside for this to happen. Dinner reservations? Yep, Rudy's Steakhouse. Okay, where's that? He doesnt't know. What time is he picking Sierra up? Don't know. Should i get a Lincoln Town Car for them? Don't know, when Danny gets up, i shall put him on a mission....like it or not! The "for sure"? He has a tux, it matches hers, saw her mom in the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, she confirmed. Does he have flowers? Yes. All done here...LOL.
Chelsey does not have shoes, earrings, jewelry, hair appointment or a clue until Conner text her last night at 11pm what time he will pick her up. He'll be here at 4:45pm to get her to go to Beth Anne's for pictures. She said "Mom, we can just get jewelry and shoes tomorrow, wake me up at 10:30am.". Now.....we have make up appointment at 2pm. That is set. If she gets up at that time, it takes a minimum of an hour for her to get ready...20 minutes to Frisco...that's noon at best to find it all in 2 hours, including having her hair done because MOM, you do hair first and then makeup. Do they have a ride? Yes.....another Mom got the limo a month ago! Does she know where dinner is? Yes, some italian place....where? No clue. Does she have a bib, so that there are no spaghetti sauce stains? No. Does she have the flowers? Yes. Dress. Yes?
Another Mom called me last night to see what i thought about all the "after parties". I had no response.....last year Dallas made sure she was safe and his parents stalked them, to make sure... I asked C and C what their plans were, not sure yet.
Now, a few things are for sure.....Prom is tonight, i have to be in two places at one time for pictures (after i buy a new camera, that is WAY less complicated than our current one), we have flowers, a dress and tux. Prom is at Craig Ranch Clubhouse in McKinney. And i am fretting!
Maybe i will put on two wrist corsages and two lapel flowers, with my pj's and houseshoes and go walk the track, with the new mountain lion that has come to Celina. I'll just come home in the morning, when the kids do!

Limo update...
Okay, my limo quotes ranged from $1350.00 to $2300.00.....so, we are going to plan B, as soon as i figure out what that is!
Their wrist corsages and lapel flowers are safe in the frig. I requested teal flowers.....they landed at the airport from Holland at noon today and i picked them up at the florist at 2:30. Now.....i didnt request Holland freaking flowers, the florist chose to do that, not me! Just so you know, teal orchids do exist. They have a lot of purple, but beautiful just the same. Photos to follow. Colby and date have matching ruffled roses that are white with gold ribbons, from Holland as well. I smilled big when i picked them up. DJ's Floral in Lewisville did great!
So....tomorrow, shoes, jewelry, hair, make up, and home so that she can dress. Colby will probably run in, shower, and throw on his clothes. Someone knew just what i needed....a boy and a girl, NOT two girls!
More Prom Weekend posts to come....but no limo.

Need a LIMO!!!!!
Colby and friends have gotten screwed out of their deposit and limo for Saturday.....trying really hard to save the day. Hope i can pull it off somehow. Carla thanks for the info. Going to try that in the morning. I have half my friends on alert! 12 people will not fit in all our vehicles! I am sure there will be more story to this in the next 48 hours.
He picked up his tux today. He looks great in it. Danny had a field day trying on Colby's size 17 shoes.....Chelsey and i both posted a picture on our Facebook pages, check them out.
Chelsey got her nails done today. Gel, so it will last. If u have not tried, yes, more exoensive, but lasts and does not chip. Highly recommend!
Another late night....tomorrow will knock out another month end, thank goodness, been a rough one! I started in the mortgage business September of 1984.....would probably make me shiver if i counted the number of "end of the months" that i have made it thru!
Off to bed soon....night night.

He's coming home Monday!
Dad update: i talked to him on my way home from work, yes, just a bit ago, and he's coming home on Monday. He sounds wonderful and happy that this whole ordeal is almost over. 5 weeks is a long time....made me cry after i hung up with him....i think relief finally hit me. Then i collected myself, and talked to Mom, and YOU sounded good too, SO, i teared up again after we hung up. I am the terrible daughter, that cant make it down often enough. Gotta figure out how to change that somehow, i promise. I love u, just know that!

I talked to Dad last night
Dad sounded really good last night when i talked to him. Colby said the same thing. He says that he should get to come home Friday or Monday. Sure hope so! I think the physical therapy is doing him a lot of good. If you checked out Carla's Blog, then you can see he is really skinny. He requested that Mom bring him green apples and a dill pickle. Least it wasn't oysters...
Tuesday, Tuesday, here we come. Saturday is prom times TWO this year. Cant wait to see Chelsey and Colby all dressed up. I feel a big photo opportunity coming.... Should be a blast getting Colby into a tux. He sweats in shorts and a t-shirt, so i can only imagine how this is going to be. And then there is Princess Chelsey.....enough said.
Have a good day all!

An Easter recap...
Okay....we are way past hunting eggs at our house, so....i'd like to share just how we spent Easter.
First i wake up early and begin chopping chicken and celery to make homemade chicken salad sandwiches on hawaiian bread, with a little lettuce. Danny wakes up and becomes my taste tester. Add this, needs, that, etc. Finally it tastes like what i intended. Next, he proceeds to ask me if we are taking drinks or anything else. I asked him if we were packing for just us or for buffett as usual. He seems completely aggitated at me for asking...well, i didnt plan it, nor did i talk to anyone, so i begin to think i have screwed up. So.....i dig oit chips, plates, napkins, trash bags and make a fresh fruit salad. We need to leave by noon to make it by 1:30pm, so at 12:15 i get "the look" and we fling everything in Chelsey's car and head out. On the way, the kids want a snack and drink, so we stop in McKinney and hit the road again. We get there 15 minutes late, according to Mr Fenter. Oh well, we made it and everyone was already kicked back in chairs. Of course, i had to pee...so, i trapse to the woods and back. Everyone is eatting, talking and watching the fishing being done by Jeannine's precious grandkids. Karley (or is it Kharley?) caught a few. Kentlee and Klye were the most entertainment that i have seen in a while. Kyke had a pet worm named John, i think. He dug in the worm dirt for quite a while. After a bit, a turtle was caught. The boys were ALL eyes and beyond hysterically funny to all the adults sitting around. He touched the turtle too. Next was the egg hunt. Somehow i missed it, but they all came back with baskets and buckets full. Kyle decided he needed a drink, so he went after some tea and stuck his finger in the glass to taste it.....remember the worms? We all burst out laughing when he did it. He also wound up with chocolate on his forehead, which Jeannine said looked like poop, so she wiped him down. The next 30 minutes or so were spent breaking conffetti eggs on everyone. Thiose boys were better than any tv show to watch. So dang cute!
Danny says "time to go" so we head to Megan's to give Hayden his bug watch. I am sure she appreciated that we woke him up only to try and get him to talk and play......then we piled back into the car to head home. We go thru Tawakoni, since it has been forever that i drove that way. Nothing has changed....seemed a little more run down.
Colby wants McDonald's as we go thru Quinlan....Danny does not, so we agree on eatting in Greenville, at Shamari's. We get there, order and we wait and wait and wait....finally Danny asks the waiter "what's up buddy" and the guy says "they forgot to butterfky her filet" so they are cooking a new one. Again, a Danny glare, as if it was all my fault that the cooks goofed up my steak Chelsey is not happy that we stopped, so she's "not eatting". We scarf down our food and head towards home.
Upon arriving home, Dallas arrives.....now i get why Chelsey is pissed that we stopped to eat. We all strip to comfy clothes and watch tv. Danny and i do dishes just prior to going to bed for the night. I do not wash in the same order he prefers, so again "the look".
Then, before 10pm, we are all in bed....because it is discovered that we are out of Cheer, and no one can wash clothes. I am sure that was my fault as well......Hope everyone had a great Easter. Carla your pictures look so peaceful....next year i'll pick up Jeannine and the boys and come to you house. Paul and Klye can name the worms!
Love to all,
Pam

Come hail or high water...
We made it home just a little ahead of the storms. The hail is getting old......
Spent Easter down under a tree by Douglas and Bobbie's former home. Felt a bit odd to not have the two of them there, but i will say Kentlee and Kyle were pretty entertaining....they fished, played with worms and hunted eggs. They are so dang cute! And Kharley caught a few fish and a turtle. She's growing up so fast!
Thunder and lightening are TERRIBLE at the moment! Happy Easter to all!

Feedjit finally!
So.....i finally figured it out.....i now have Feedjit on our blog.....now i shall know where all our viewers are..... Tried to add the dang thing over a year ago, but could not get it to work. Tried it on my iPad, and it worked the first time.
Rain, but no storms, thank goodness. Both kids home before 10pm. I think i had them worried it might hail and mess up their vehicles. Tomorrow is Easter in the pasture beside Douglas and Bobbie's house. The same one we almost froze to death in several years ago. Hope it's dry for everyone to get together. Also hope to be able to head to Tyler to see dad tomorrow too. Visiting hours are not very user friendly, but i shall try amd make it work.
Morgan's pictures are fantastic...so grown up. Love love love the red heels... And love you too Carla.
Off to bed, i think i hear the Easter abunny scratching at the back door.

2nd post for today
Just talked to Mom a bit ago.....Dad was moved to rehab today! He's still in Tyler, but he's one step closer to home now. They told Mom, he would hate them tomorrow, but love them the next day. He has to be up and ready at 7am. He's in a semi private room, with another guy. I actually think he will like having someone to keep him company. Just glad he's progressing!

Hello Lucia!
I can not believe that we didn't think of it before Carla, now Lucia can spend hours converting English to Potgugese, so she can keep up with us. To those who do not know, Lucia was the first of three foreign exchange students that lived with us, and by far our favorite! She was with us from December of 1981 to May/June 1982. Hard to believe it's been almost 30 years...
Lucia, a few memories from your time here.....the first night you walked into the kitchen and asked where the "shits" were....i thought Carla and i would burst, since we were NOT allowed to curse....you meant "sheets" but you sure created a stir. We thought for sure your very first night would involve a whipping!
I also remember that December day we walked out of the airport and you had just spent almost a whole day on a plane, leaving behind summer weather. It was FREEZING cold in Texas. I think you just wanted to go back home.
You trying to understand our "Texas draw". We all found ourselves talking even slower, so you could understand. Sometimes you were not even around and Carla and i were still making sure our words were clear.
I remember you putting your hand over your mouth and saying "oh my god!" at least 100 times the first month. Everything was an adventure with you. Such fun to watch you learn our way of life.
I remember you getting home sick and wanting to leave Mom and Dad sat down with you, and you soon realized that we were a family that wanted you in our home and we did everything that we could, to make you feel welcome.
I remember Dad harassing you to no end about different things....you both loved it.
I remember Mom worrying that you had warm enough clothes and making sure you had socks to wear all the time, to keep your feet warm! I think you wore them everyday, the whole time you were here!
I remember taking you to a party and the next day you said "NEVER again Pam". We shall leave that one alone, and not elaborate.
I remember when we took you to the airport, to send you home, and we ALL cried. You promised to return someday....i hope that day is soon.
Mom gave Carla and i a great gift two Christmas' ago.....she surprised us with a call to you. Carla and i were both in tears when we realized what she was doing...what a great gift for all of us.
And now, thru the world of the internet, you can keep up with our antics, via our blogs. I cant think of a better reason to keep posting.
One more memory...i still remember you teaching me to say "calabolka voce punta". I am positive that i didnt spell it right, but that is how i remember to say it.....
Much love to our faraway sister...someday we shall see you again!
Love,
Your Texas Sister, Pam
P.S. I predict that it will take you DAYS to translate all this!

We all talked to Dad tonight
Colby, Chelsey, Tyler and i all talked to Dad tonight. He sounded great! He's leaving the hospital tomorrow, for Rehab someplace in Tyler. He sounded like he was ready....his request is to drive our Kubota RTV when he finally gets out. I'll have it gassed up and ready. I think he'd be very content to just ride around outside, with no particular place to go. Feels like he's been in the hospital for months....and i know it has only been a few weeks.
Just walked a mile and three quarters up at the track. Tired of being fat...time to get after it again, and drop some pounds. Night number one was good. Shooting for 3-4 days a week at the track.
Night all,
Pam

You might be a red neck if....
You might be a red neck if you have been to Bass Pro, Great Wolf Lodge and Cabella's all in the same day.....i could not even begin to guess just how many kids were at Great Wolf...what a ZOO! As was Cabella's. There was a sign that said "Cabella's Shuttle Ahead". We managed to find a parking place as did Paul and Carla. Danny liked it better than Bass Pro....not me, i prefer BP. Found something for Hayden, that will surely make Megan squirm. Need your address girl...
Morgan, Paul and. Carla are already in bed, long day for them. Danny and i are watching a red hot Dirk and the Mavs....how do i get so drawn in? Well...its the playoffs..
Continuing with Dylan's birthday tomorrow.

Communication
The fact that we "text" these days, instead of talking on the phone is just a way of life....but when my sister uses Facebook and her blog to communicate that Dad needs pj's and underwear at the hospital, i think we have crossed a line! LOL. Mom, hope you saw those notes. I think Dad is tired of being in a gown for almost a month!
Todays line up....eyebrow wax, before i have to comb them back into place. Great Wolf Lodge for the g-sons birthday party (cant believe Dylan is TEN) and home in time for Carla, Paul and Morgan to arrive. Sheets in the washer, dishes to clean, laundry room to straighten up.....that list is a little like a song, but i prefer the song "ass in the water, toes in the sand..."
Last night we had Colby, Kevin, Jay, Tyler, Chelsey and Dallas all at home.....such a BIG Friday night for all. It's kinda fun to know they are all good with just hanging out here, hard to keep up with all of them otherwise. Chelsey was very sad....grade time again, possibly a "C" coming. Earth shattering for her. BUT, when Dallas showed up, her smile returned a bit. It will be interesting, two weeks from today, to see how that whole thing goes when Conner is her Prom date....i think there is a bit of jealousy, but that never hurts anyone and "you snooze you lose" when it comes to prom! I have laid down the law....she goes with Conner, because he asked her a few weeks ago, not changing, not happening, as she would say RUDE to even think about a change this late in the game.
Just talked to Mom a bit ago, she said Dad told her that he'd be going home Monday or Tuesday. Not sure if that is wishful thinking or what. Will update once i talk to them again.
Have a great Saturday and watch Carla's Blog for Warrior Dash photos. I'd bet it is a muddy mess!
XOXO,
PK
P.S. Megan, i cant believe he is TWO. Post lots of pictures....

A second post tonight....
So....i just have to share part of my presentation today. The audience was 8 or so new people that have been here since Monday, all from out of state. It's a training class....so i am part of the training. I present at 2pm and have one hour. Think about it, that's at least an hour after lunch and i am between them and their next break. Sooo.... I decide to make my presentation a mix of fun and work. I call it the Numbers/Triva Game. The mortgage industry has many "numbers" as you can imagine. Many of our standard forms are known by a number, so i throw this and a few accronyms in to keep them guessing. I also mix in a few other things such as.
If you plug your nose (use your fingers Paul) and close your mouth, it is impossible to hum
What's the number 332? The number of dimples in a golf ball
118? The number of ridges in a dime.
119? The number of ridges in a quarter
7? The maximum number of times you can fold a regular size sheet of paper in half
Your forearm is exaxtly the same length as your foot. One guy was 6' 8" and he said NO WAY....he pops off his shoe and sure enough...same length.
80%? The percentage of water contained in your brain.
4? The number of knees that an elephant has.....they are the only animal with this number and also the only animal that can't jump!
467? The number of questions an average 4 year old asks in a day.
Hopefully you can have a little fun with my Trivia Game. The group of trainees did! And mixed in with mortgage stuff, they learned a lot too. And it was FUN!

Wacky Wednesday...
Damn, what a day. Am i the only one that ever says this? 3 meetings, a conference call, a presentation and a Happy Hour. Makes for a tired Pam. And one that feels guilty because i never stopped long enough to call and check on Dad. I shall call in the morning, everything else can just WAIT. Realtor emails today....would you consider selling 10 acres? I tell her to send me a drawing of the 10. Of course it includes the lake access. No dice....if i am going to sell, it all goes AND i hope to keep fishing rights. It's not like i want the mineral rights, just want to fish if i get the urge.
To Aunt Barbara, glad you, Gary, Tony and family are all okay. Tony's pictures prove they had a scary night. Hate the storms. So helpless. I remember that Mom and Dad used to load us up and drive away from the storms. Cant remember where we went, just away. I can also remember getting in a storm cellar somewhere....can remember fruit jars and spiders in there. Probably the reason i am scared of the DARK!
To Jeannine....looking forward to Easter. Sure do miss Douglas and Bobbie.....they will be smiling down upon us, i am sure. Bobbie might even have a twinkle in her eye if it just happens to be freezing cold that day.....oh how i remember...
One day closer to Friday - check.
Love to all,
Pam

Is your house clean today?
Cell phone rings this morning at 9am.....it's Coryann, our Realtor. Her question....is your house clean today? I pause, take in a mental picture of how i left it 2 hours before and say, Well, it's pretty straight. No underwear in the floor. Why? She wanted her video guy to come out and video the whole place for a "virtual tour" to go on their web site. She said she would be here and hide anything that shouldnt be in the video. I say ok and go on about my day.... Chelsey calls me right after school and says "did someone come to the house today?". Yes Ma'am, why? She said the whole bar is clear. Stuff is "thrown in the floor" in my room. Things just dont look right Mom. I explained the video, and Chelsey was not happy. She had to out all her "stuff" back in its place. I laughed....she must have thought someone broke in. I get home and fruit bowl is in microwave. Pans in oven. Toothpaste and all my "stuff" is gone. I find it neatly placed in a cabinet. Now....everythhing is back in it's place. Chelsey said, they must not have video'd Colby's room. Nothing was moved, Hahahahahaha.
I talked to Dad this morning. He sounded really good. But you can tell he is tired of being trapped in the hospital. The good thing is that he is improving!
Off to watch tv.

Driver's License
Okay.....last Monday C and C turned 17. On Tuesday or Wednesday Chelsey says...oh by the way, our license expired on Monday. Grrrrrr, so Thursday i write them a note to go to school late, so they can go renew. They go in one car, as requested, and Chelsey texts me later and says "couldnt get because we do not have a VOE". I text back, "what the heck is a VOE?". No reply. I text Colby, he doesnt know and says that it comes from the school. Colby says, we have the same birthday and parents, so Chelsey can figure it out and just get one. I text Chelsey, WHATEVER IT IS, GET TWO. She gets TWO on Friday. I tell them more than once, if you get stopped, they will TOW your car, so they drive right all weekend...well, at least right enough to not get stopped. Today, i call the school, give permission to let them out at 1:30pm, since DL office closes at 4pm. They come home, shower, Chelsey fixes her hair (MOM, they are going to take our picture, i cant look stupid) Off they go to Sherman, since there is never a line. Chelsey texts that they are STILL waiting in line at 4:25pm. I get home and both have renewed their license, thank goodness. Still not sure what the VOE is, but is was a PITA (pain in the a#%). Renewal cost $6.00 each. Is it really necessary? Good grief.....least we know, for next year! But, then they will be 18, so i am sure the rules will change....
Crazy Monday, all day long.....a friend posted on Facebook "calgon take me away!". I couldnt agree more! Our NEW Realtor emailed this morning that the people who came yesterday didnt even get out of the car. They wanted "more secluded..". Now......this time i opened every blind, left lights on, etc., even shoved clothes around in our closet, so it didnt seem "closed in" as the realtor said from the last people, the last visitors didn't like that it was "a dark house" and floor plan didnt work for them. So.....this morning, when hail was hitting our windows and power was going on and off, my first thought was "well....it will have light if all the windows break and if we had a bunch of trees, they'd be ripped to pieces with the wind and hail.". I think this whole thing is going to make me nuttier than i was before we listed it....maybe i'll plant a few trees this coming weekend....so it's secluded, but NOT by the windows, so the light can get in. And wait for another hail storm.
As i am about to leave for work this morning, Danny texts (no we do NOT talk on our phones anymore) to "check the roof above our bathroom and Colby's truck." Soooooo, gritting my teeth, i stomp outside to look at the roof. Nothing wrong, i walk to every angle. Nothing. Then i stomp out to Colby's truck....nope, same dents HE put in it....nothing new. I come back in, and text Danny "both okay ???". He texts back, "okay, just making sure....." I think i'll go drink a bottle of calgon now....can i choose where to be "taken away"? Mexico sure sounds good!
Love to all!

A windy Saturday...
Taxes complete....$35.00 refund. I will try and not spend THAT all in one place. Might just use it to buy minnows, cant get much else!
Wind is terrible, but it's still sunny and beautiful out, so i am not complaining.
Colby has decided he doesnt want his truck anymore....could it be because he STAYS in trouble for needing gas money ALL the time. He said a Tahoe is better than his truck. Said it takes 40.00 for Dallas to fill his up, and it lasts a week. Now......seriously.....40.00 if it's on a half a tank and lasts a week if you only start it everyday, but never put it into drive or reverse. There will be NO Tahoe for Colby!
Off for an early dinner, i am starving!

I think Pia was one of the best. I predict a big future for her! Now that she's off American Idol....the judges alone can make her phone ring!

Update
I just talked to Mom a little bit ago. They had Dad up walking today it's been two weeks, so i am sure he was glad to be mobile. He used a walker, but who cares, he was standing! She said they would be moving him next week, from ICU, to another part of the hospital. He's eatting good (raw oysters yesterday...gag). Mom even sounded good, less worry in her voice. She's at a friends house tonight, to save on the drive time, so Thank you to Val for letting her hang out with you.
Off to bed, headache and tired tonight

A video worthy of "People of WalMart"
Okay.....so i head to WalMart at noon (Danny says....see ya 4pm, the turd!) with a very short list of items to buy. Make a run thru, get all on the list, check out and head to the parking lot. My list consisted of the following:
Clementines (those little oranges), two BIG trash cans, carpet fresh, birthday cake, little trash bags, dog food, wheat bread, broom, BIG trash bags, 2 gallons of milk, and a new rug for the kitchen. Got all but the rug, and only added 2 helium balloons after i got there.
Soooooo......i am headed to Chelsey's SUV (planned ahead for the trash cans) fighting the balloons in the 100 mph wind. Tie the balloons to my purse, put them in the front passenger seat, try and shut the door while balancing the cake with one hand. The gd balloons are trying to escape. Foot hooked in cart to keep it rolling away. Death grip on cake. Smacking the balloons, trying to get them far enough in, so i can shut the door. Still wind is 100mph. Wrap balloon strings around purse, throw across to driver's seat, slam door. Pam 1 Balloons 0.
Wheel cart to back of SUV. Keys are, yep, you guessed it, in purse....push cart to driver's door. Balloons are right against window. Push cart to other side, open passenger door, grab purse, balloons come too....take keys out of purse, with balloons slapping me in the face in the wind. Throw purse back to driver's seat, still balancing cake, one foot hooked in cart and YES, still windy as heck! Slam door. Hit button to open back door, up it goes....here come balloons. Fight them back AGAIN. Pam 2 Balloons 0. Place cake in first.
Get sacks out, that are all around trash can in cart....broom falls over and pops me in the head. Get all sacks out and in back, then see 25 lb bag of dog food, which i wisely place on bottom of cart, so nothing got mashed. Wheel cart to back passenger door, and balloons are right there, as if they are smiling at me. Wheel around to driver's side back door....open it up, grab dog food, toss it in and shut door....was feeling pretty good until i look back at cart and there are the gd trash cans....OKAY.... Back passenger door, fight ballons again, grab dog food, toss over into drivers side seat, grab trash cans, and here come the GD balloons again..... Sit down trash cans, take balloons and stuff them under seat, dont even care if they pop at this point....take out trash cans, with them propped on my legs, i walk them into the back seat. Balloons try and escape AGaIN....slam door. Cart is empty. Take it over to cart return, wipe sweat from forehead.....walk back to drivers door, open it....and NOW the dog food is a problem...not enough room for my wide butt and 25 lb bag of dog food....grab it, toss to passenger seat, jump in and shut the door. Keys? Keys? Well.....they are laying inside the back, with the cake if course... Sooo...i thought, okay, they car is push button start, maybe it will work.....allas...it starts. I get out of the parking lot, onto to 380, turn on 2478, flying home....it's 1:35 at this point, so i am thinking HAHA...Danny was wrong, i WILL make it before 4pm. Drive down 2478, turn on 1461, then down to 2478 again.....come over a hill and a tractor is pulling a mobile home right down the middle of the road! SLAM on the breaks, trash cans rock forward and back and OUT pop the balloons.....soooooo, the three of us ride home, with me holding them in one hand and driving with the other. I get home, park in garage, take balloons in first. Tie one in Chelsey's room and the other in Colby's. Double knot, so that they do not visit the ceiling fans....
Unload the sacks, unload trash cans, throw dog food bag out in garage.... Go in the house and sit in chair for a minute. Grrrrrrr, forgot the cake, go back out, get it out of the car, and set on counter...... I look at my cell phone, and Chelsey has text at 1pm...."get us something for lunch...". She can eat a couple of balloons for all i care!
Good grief...what a fiasco.....worthy of "people of WalMart" wall of fame.....
Sorry you missed it!

Orange icing...
Forgot to write about the orange icing yesterday....Carla, the picky sister, had to make more that one stop for Dad's cake. She finally found just the right one. It was white with orange icing for trim. So.....she takes the top off to show it to Dad and almost dumps the cake on him, almost! Then we cut the cake, and i end up with orange icing on my shirt, Mom has it on her's too. Morgan a little spot, Mom on her face, and Carla all over her fingers. Morgan, the picky ones daughter, has a Tide stain stick in her purse. I think we all used it by the time we were done with the cake, which was a little frozen, but very good. The rest was left for the nurses, who wiped it out before we left.

To Tyler and back
Made the round trip today, to see Dad. He looked good. Cat napped on and off. Ate birthday cake. Ate chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy. I think he looked a lot better today, than last Sunday when i saw him. Dr said have to get him better, before they can figure out what the spot is on his lung.
On the way i saw tons of bluebonnets. Also saw the Extreme Makeover House in Mineola. Looks pretty neat, but i didnt like the turquoise doors very much.
Just put up the rod and reels. Everyone but me was catching fish! It's not usually that way...
Happy birthday Dad,
Love you,
Pam

Happy Birthday Daddy!
No one should have to celebrate their 70th birthday in the hospital, but it appears that is what we will do today, with Daddy. I talked to Mom last night. She said she spent the day rounding up all his medical records from Emory, SS, Mt Pleasant and Winnsboro. All are being reviewed by the doctors in Tyler. They pulled fluid off his lungs yesterday to test. She was also told that they do not see anything indicating a biopsy was done. Humm....that's sorta what started all this, or so we thought. Headed there in a couple of hours to see what's up. Dad says "no gifts" of course. We'll have to find him something, just not sure what that will be!
As for this week, just busy finishing up month end. Record month of closings!
TTFN, going to hit the shower after i finish my coffee.
Love to all, and thanks for your continued prayers, we just want Dad well, so he can come home!
