It's in the oven Son....

Colby has asked me to bake one thing forever....Sopapilo Cheesecake. Tonight as I sit checking out Hayden's potty training progress, a new pet for a family, and a little girl who's Mom is losing her mind helping her fight cancer, I see it...in a blog title and I just happen to have enough stuff in the cabinet to make HALF a recipe...which means an 8 x 8 pan instead of 9 x 13. It's now baking in the oven and Colby keeps checking it, to see if it's cooking correctly. Last night he and I baked blueberry muffins, so we could have them for breakfast...I had ONE this morning and when I got home tonight, there was NONE left...lord help us be able to feed that kid a little while longer! He said, "mom, I had them for breakfast, just like we agreed". True statement...but I meant plural as in a couple of breakfasts, not just one! Anyone want to bet that there is no cheesecake left by morning?

His concern for breakfast is because he's been in in school suspension for 3 days...all they feed them is chips and a sandwich, so he has to eat it up before going to school. He skipped school last Thursday....this is the reason for being suspended. His truck stayed parked all weekend. While in CDC today, he missed a girl fight in the hallway....Chelsey missed it too, because she was in the bathroom. Now both the girls are going to be in CDC for 5 days....Colby is rethinking the fact that he is now free from "the hole" as it's called. He never ceases to crack me up....

Chelsey just got home from what was to be a work out and interview at PAC Fitness in Prosper. The lady didn't show up. She's interviewing to work the kids club room...watching kiddos while the parents work out and then wiping down machines after people work out. This should be interesting. It pays $10.00 per hour, so she has decided THIS is the job for her and the drive isn't far and they close at 10pm, so not too terribly late getting home. Guess we will see when the lady shows up again....

Colby is getting applications together in the next couple of days...trying to stay in town. Can't have all his pay go for gas money, so hopefully he finds something soon and close!

Just heard the oven open and close again....better go make sure he is leaving at least a little heat in it!

Love,
PK

Good morning!

Seems as if the weekend flew by and now we have Monday and rain...not two of my favorites!

We stopped and visited Tazz and Ashley and the boys Saturday night. Watched a little more of the football game, laughed at a few stories and the boys. Then headed home.

Up yesterday morning and off to Stargucks with Danny. Then back home and to the grocery store with Chelsey. Then back home and cooked. We are meal planning this week. Chelsey picked out most of the meals, so we went with a list and now let's see if we stick with it. The plan is super nachos, King Ranch Chicken, Tacos, and Terriaki Chicken. Not sure of the order, but at least there will be no "what's for dinner" text as I drive home from work...

Busy week then a three day weekend again. They also changed our vacation accrual, and since I kept my seniority with Centex, I now get 4 weeks vacation!!!!

Off to get dressed, to drive in with the rain, joy...joy. Have a great week all!

Much love,
PK

2 surprises in one hour...

Before I tell you about the two surprises of the day, let me say that "We Bought a Zoo" is a great movie... Chelsey and I went and saw it today. So dang cute. There is a little girl named Rosie in the movie that is a show stealer!

Now for the two surprises. 1st when we got home I checked the mail. Mom....thank you for the scarves! Chelsey and I love them! Great surprise.

2nd surprise was when I went walking the neighborhood....I saw a man in his yard that looked familiar and he said "well hello there....would you like to see Eli?". YES, it was my little buddy from the football games. Everytime I walk, I think about that sweet little boy. He came bouncing out of the house and said HELLO there.... My heart just melted. We drew on the sidewalk with chalk for a minute and his Mom promised to call and bring him to see Tank...he wants a puppy so bad. While I was there Lana (his Mom) got the mail and she had a surprise too. A certificate and letter that they have been approved to adopt She told Eli that piece of paper meant they were closer to him having a brother or sister. His smile was priceless....as I told him goodbye and went on to finish my walk, I couldn't help but smile, and a tear dropped down my cheek. That little boy just makes my heart sing... Last time I saw him was at a football game and he hugged me and said "I love you Nana Pam"....

Off I go to shower so Danny and I can go to Hooters to watch football....guess I will cheer for the Saints...

A beautiful memorial service

I bolted from work today so I could attend Chelsey's friends Mom's memorial service. It was beautiful and the biggest church in Celina was packed. Cars were parked down Preston Road and the police were there just to get everyone out safely. It shows that Brenda was really loved by the whole community. I didn't know her well at all, but Haley has been in and out of our door for several years now. She was a very strong 17 year old today.

Not much else to write about...have walked 4 of the past five days and it feels good! After day one of being sore. Now if I can just get past all the dogs inside fences makes me jump when they suddenly bark as I pass it will be completely enjoyable!

Soooo tired of hearing about the Kardashions....they just had to come to Dallas.

A lazy day...

Have not left the house today! Got up and started lunch....had been cooking black eyed peas in my crock pot since late yesterday afternoon, and when I got up, they were almost gone...Danny, Colby and Kevin enjoyed them at 1am. Soooo, I added a couple more cans and cranked the pot up on high. Pork chops, ham, cabbage, corn bread, deviled eggs, scalloped potaoes joined the peas. We ate lunch at 11:15 and I think Danny was back asleep before 12. I snoozed in my recliner until the neighborhood Welcoming lady rang the door bell....we've been here 3 months and she chooses to visit when I am napping. Really? I was friendly and then shut the door.....

Danny and I went to Hank's in McKinney last night and left by 11:15. We were home in 15 minutes and watched tv until I was about to pass out at 12:30. I went to bed, Danny stayed up. Colby and Kevin got in shortly after and they watched tv for a while. I was snoring no doubt! Chelsey and Christen made it home safe and sound too. That's a successful night!

Now I anxiously await the Cowboy game as Danny snores in his chair. I could never sleep as much as he does! Chelsey and I walked this afternoon...had to reminder her that I do things for her all the time...so shed go with me. Legs are SORE from yesterday. Half the walk is winding downhill...then it's ALL uphill back. Oh well...no pIn, no gain.

One of Cheleys friends lost her Mom to cancer yesterday afternoon. So sad....funeral is Wednesday, and will surely be a sad one. All the Senior Moms will just have to make sure Haley is taken care of thru the rest of her Senior year...

Off tomorrow...guess I'll take down the tree and "undecorated" the house.....

Happy 2012!

Goodbye 2011

As I sit in my recliner, contemplating what we will do tonight, I think back on this past year, and honestly, once again it's a blur! It's the year we have had many "lasts". It's a year that Dad got really sick and thank goodness is better now....I also found out just how fast one can get from Lewisville to Mt Pleasant, without a ticket. It's a year that we met an environmental deputy. It's the year we moved out of my dream house (should close week after next!). It's the year Chelsey took her first college classes. It's the year we lost my wonderful brother in law Donny. It's the year we acquired Tank. It's the year Mom retired. It's the year Danny and I celebrated our 21st Anniversary and the kids got one year away from being 18. Colton turned 8 and Dylan went to double digit 10 years old... Colby stepped on Bobcat field for the very last time in uniform. What a year!

2012 will be an interesting, exciting and sad year....Graduation times TWO. Being unsure if we will stay in Celina after they get out of school. Considering we have worn orange since 1998, this could be a major change for Danny and I. Things I want to do....lose weight, quit smoking, go on a cruise or at least a tropical vacation, and savor every minute of the last few months that the kids are in high school. I want to build our saving back up....grow my hair down to my shoulders...find a charity or organization to volunteer with....visit Baylor NICU on April 4th....see my sister a little more often....fish with my Daddy... Spend more time with Ashley and the boys....start a tshirt quilt with my Mom....and spend time with Danny, other than in our recliners... I think I can do all that in a year!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy NYE....now bring on 2012!

Much love,
Pam

Another year in the Mortgage business closed out!!!

Well....that would be my 27th year end in the mortgage business....no wonder gray hair is starting to show up near my temples! We managed to get it done before 5pm, which I think is a first in all those years.... Heck, I have people on my team that aren't even 27 years old...ugh! That was a kick in the teeth sentence.

Sooooo....what will the Fenter Funny Farm be doing this weekend? Keeping Dylan and Colton tomorrow night....maybe we can dance a little with the Wii. And bowl and play tennis. Sounds perfect to me! Maybe a Starbucks run. And a run to return that damn green shirt I bought for last weeks dinner party. I do not like it as much as I thought. And other than that, not any plans. Course Chelsey and Colby probably have their whole weekend planned out...more driving me crazy. Tomorrow we are having a nice sit down talk about them finding J.O.B.S. I am sure that will go really well..... Probably worth an entire blog post when it's over.... Stay tuned...you will not want to miss this one! I may even take photos of the momentous occasion...

Ohhhhhh....and I am going to rip down all the Christmas decorations and walk the neighborhood, as excercise, for the next three days that I am off. All part of the diet...today I didn't even realize I missed lunch until almost 4pm....so I had a small piece of cheese and two crackers to tide me over u till dinner, which was at Ernosto's in Prosper....had chicken with rice and salad. No guacamole. No cheese dip. No tortillas. :-). That's progress....going to step on the scales in the morning. I hope it's five pounds this week. We shall see...

Lastly, I just bought our black eyed peas, cabbage and ham for Sunday. What's it all for Mom? Wealth, health and ? Can't remember exactly...maybe all that will happen and the Cowboys will win Sunday too.

Have a nice weekend all....going to watch a little tv then off to bed.

PK

P.S. Jeannine and Carla....and Katelyn, you could post a little more often...I enjoy keeping up with you too ya know!
