Made it to work! One hour and fifty minutes this morning, of white knuckle, stiff legged, big eyes driving.... Ice EVERYWHERE. Worst part was getting from home to 380....well maybe it was just all bad. Only took an hour and a half to get home. Keep in mind, this is typically a 45 minute trip!
As i watch the news, Mr Channel 4 is saying SNOW. Good grief, will it ever stop? The kids are out of school tomorrow again. Colby is loving it. Chelsey is about to lose her mind.
Oh....when i got to the last bridge by the house, and looked up the icy hill, i saw a truck pulling a car out of our own ditch. The DEEP part of it....i stopped and let the truck get the car out and then proceeded to the driveway. I didnt kiss the ground, but thought about kissing the garage when i got out of the car.
Now there is a sand truck on the news that slid and rolled on it's side. I think i'll go hide in the bathtub with some bubbles.
Stay warm and as always, love to all!

YES...two posts in one day!
Well....being cooped up for two days is NOT good for the Fenter Funny Farm. Chelsey and I are not even speaking at this point. Late this afternoon she text for me to come after her at Brookshires. So....off I go in my little car. ICE almost all the way. While at Brookshires, I decided to restock. We finally finish shopping, with Chelsey texting the ENTIRE time, sack it up, load it up and head back home. On the way I am being cautious and she's being impatient (terrible combination). I mean, why did we need to hurry? Arrive home and an hour later she learns there is no school again tomorrow. Sooooo, she thinks she can leave again. NOT happening. Screaming, yelling, pouting, and she's STILL here....much to her dismay. She even had her friend text me begging. NOT happening.
Colby was equally as mad when I told him NO, he could not go to Kevin's. No screaming or fighting, but he's pouting. I figure, if I have to be trapped at home, they may as well be here with me and LOVE IT as much as I do.
Tomorrow morning (probably mid morning) I shall head to Lewisville. I'm going to work, even if I have to drive the Kubota. Come hell, high water, snow or even more ice. I'm a brave bored Mommy tonight...
Danny has been out in it all day again today. I have cooked sloppy joe's, a roast and chicken enchilladas. No one will starve around here...that's for sure.
As for the ice, the driveway is still solid. The yard actually looks like it's covered in snow, but it's crunchy. The curves on 455 are VERY icy. The driveway (the rock part, not the concrete) is crunchy. They say snow on Friday. Sunny Saturday and Sunday and then possibly hit again Monday. This just can't be! I'll be stark raving mad by that time....or happily sitting in a hotel in Lewisville.
Happy Wednesday night to all.....off to walk the floors AGAIN. Oh and wash dishes (AGAIN) as well.

Frozen...
Good morning to all my frozen friends and family! Just saw a facebook post that the Groundhog didn't see his shadow, so Spring is just around the corner. What corner? The icy one I am sure. Things are frozen solid here STILL. It's 12 degrees according to the pool themometer TWELVE, good grief....
Yesterday was fun....Chelsey left and I thought it would be Colby and I all day. BUT Tyler text and said "what are you doing Mom?". I replied "sitting in my recliner under a blanket, and you?". He said he might come see me.....i said bring it on, but BE careful. He and Junior came over, and Colby went after Kevin, so I had 4 big strapping boys with me all day. I cooked, washed dishes, cooked, washed dishes.....and stuck my head out ever so often, to see if the ice remained. Even capped the cooking off with brownies at 11pm. They wiped them out. Kevin stayed the night. And Junior and Tyler left at 11:30. Made them text when they got home safely. Danny arrived at 20 minutes till one, after getting off at midnight. He made 4 trips with the sand truck to the Hunt County line. I asked if the big trucks slide, he said yes and i stopped asking questions....its better that i not know any more!
As I sit here, everyone in the house is snoring, including Lily. Not sure if I will attempt a trip to Lewisville today....the dang remote battery is dead, and there is something special you have to do to it, and last time I goofed it up, so I sit in silence until the snoring stops. Danny has to be back at work at noon. His biggest frustration yesterday? Starbucks was CLOSED! Poor guy....
Stay warm, and remember Punx DID NOT see his shadow....spring is on the way! Oh, a few shout outs.....Kelly, he's so cute, cant believe he's two already, Happy Birthday Kaden. Aunt Sharon, Uncle Raymond and Aunt Barbara, thanks for attending Mom's party Monday. Megan...is Jeff having to drive in this mess? Carla...unless you and Paul ran out of wood and used boards, they are called logs! Paul, be nice....blonde moments happen honey. Elaine, glad you enjoy our blog. Mom and Dad, stay warm, love u!

Tearful Monday, but a happy one...
Its official! Mom is now retired. It was so sweet to see just how much her co-workers love and will miss her. It was a long round trip, but glad i made it. Carla and i enjoyed joining in the stories while doing "while Mom was at work.". Mom....enjoy your first carefree day and many many more to come. Love you!
On my way to Quitman, i stopped and saw Sunny for almost an hour. I talked about the boys, Ashley, and Tazz. She had just eatten, and was sleepy. Marsha also said she had a tummy ache.
Chelsey just roled out of bed, needless to say, school is cancelled. We have a nice sheet of ice on the driveway. I am staying right here in my chair for now. DFW Airport is closed. Cant ever remember that happening. Scarey that Danny has to be at work at noon and not off until midnight. He'll have a heck of a week, i am sure.
He just said "we're almost out of eggs". Unless he can lay some, it will just have to stay that way!
Love to all and stay warm!

Hockey!
Danny, Colton, Dylan and i went to see the Allen Americans hockey game last night. Fun to watch the game and the people. Just might have to go again sometime. Lots of loud music, a few fights, Colton said the pizza was great and then had cotton candy. Capped off the night with an icey from Racetrack. Not sure what today has in store for Danny and i. The boys are at home and C and C spent the night with friends...which means they will not wake up and come home until mid afternoon....there was a mini blimp at the hockey game with a Choctaw ad, hummmm, is it a sign? Maybe...

A helmet
Ashley and i have been following a blog for several days.... Thesimplewife.typepad.com. Tobin is the husband of Joanne, who was found on the floor by her youngest daughter, 19 days ago, and she was in siezure from a stroke. She'll be moved to a long term care facility today at 9am. It was supposed to happen yesterday, but they didnt have a helmet. You should read the stories her husband posts. Ashley and i have both cried over a complete stranger. It just hits really close to home....
For this reason....i have made a decision. Monday, on my way to Quitman, for Mom's retirement party, i am going to stop by and see Sunny. It has been many years.....i want to do this. She's missed out on 20+ years, and i plan to spend a little time catching her up on things. By the time i leave, she will know that she her daughter has a beautiful spirit and kind heart. I'll share that she fell on the ice at our apartment, got her foot stuck in the toilet, fell off the tall slide at the city park, loved to color, eat fresh veggies with ranch, spent some time in schools out of state, was a trooper as Dylan came into the world and i got to hold her hand, called me as i was putting on my makeup one morning to say that what would turn out to be Colton existed. That she was beautiful in her wedding dress...even when Tazz dropped her! And that she Texts me now with funny thhings about the boys. Makes my heart sing. There are so many stories to share. But i want Sunny to know that Ashley has been loved, as if she were my very own. If she has layed there for 20 years wondering, Monday she shall know.
Joanne may not know about her girls at this very moment, but Sunny will...Monday, yes Monday. I love you Ashley, with all of my heart!
Signed,
Mom 2

BEWARE of downloads....
I hope that i can type this out as it happened today....here goes. I must warn you, its a bit "colorful."
Today...i have a 10am meeting with my boss and a few others. Hes in a building "up the hill" so i drive up a little before 10. Park. Get out of the car and as i am walking i check my phone. Text from Danny....open it up and its a download. He sends me funny stuff sometimes, pictures typically,,, so i open the media up....it starts a slow, painful download. I think to myself "i dont have time for this" so i hit end, toss my phone in my purse and head for the elavator. Up two stories....pass the President of the company, say hello, and proceed to my bosses office. I have to walk by several cubes and the COO's office on the way. The COO is outside his door, so i say hello and keep walkimg. Just as i pass him my PuRSE starts saying.......in a very loud voice......GOOD MORNING MOTHER F&$@/('s. HAPPY F$&@/ing TUESDAY. AREN'T YoU GLAD TO BE AT F$@&/ing WORK. I am tearing my purse up to get my phone. Holding it up against my chest trying to turn it down and STOP IT from talking. Finally i get it stopped, but not before everyone on that side of the building is laughing hysterically. My bosses face is a nice shade of red as he is laughing.....i am mortified! Finally we regain our composure....complete the hour long meeting and i begin to leave. The COO catches me before i can get out of the door and closes it. He says, "pam, i need to talk to you about your phone.".
At this point i am thinking great....i'm about to be fired! He then says...."about your phone......can i hear it again?". I laugh with him and BOLT saying "no, you can't....".
If i could have choked Danny at that very moment......if the window had a way to open it, i'd have thrown my pbone out of it.....if i'd thought about it, i probably would have thrown it on the ground to shatter it..... None of this happened, instead it kept saying it over and over! So......after Danny's big chuckle when i got home, he showed me what button to hit next time.
Funny but true....only me, only me....
