First day.....

Day one, back in the work force, was great! In a training classroom all day. A few facts, I left home this morning at 7:07am and arrived at the office at 7:50am. Round trip was 75 miles today. Speed limit on the Tollway and 121 (well over half my trip) is 70 mph. So....although a little further in distance than Plano, because of the lack of lights and increased speed, it actually takes me less time now!

Tomorrow is training, all day long, again... Then I should be able to go to my new office, instead of corporate, so that I can start my new adventure.

Note to Carla, glad you found the dirt under the red tips and not the snake, it looks fabulous! I'm sure you'll pass out soon...and I can only imagine what Winnsboro thinks of one of their newest residents riding thru town on a bicycle (remember Cyclone?), LOL. Love ya!

Nice, quiet Mothers Day!

Summary of my Mothers Day....

Laundry...
Gift certificates from Danny to my favorite nail place in Frisco.
Breakfast in Anna with Colby, Danny, Ashley, Tazz, Colton and Dylan.
Laundry...
WalMart trip for lunch items
To gas station to fill up and run thru car wash....pump didn't ask me if I wanted a car wash, so car still dirty!
Laundry...
Cooked early dinner (notice there was no lunch!)
Dishes and water my next shrubs and flowers (brrr, it's chilly out there!)
And as I sit and type this, I hear the dryer running, with Chelsey's clothes and the washer running with Colby's.

First day back to work tomorrow. It's been a stressful, fun filled, worried, awesome 10 1/2 weeks off. I've cooked, cleaned, planted flowers, trimmed trees, burned brush piles, fished, shopped, landscaped with Carla and Ashley, went to Starbucks with Danny, taken the kids to school, saw my cousins precious baby boy who turned one on April 15th, picked them up from school, took them lunch at school, had a mani/pedi in the middle of the day, taken a few naps (although not many!), been to Braum's just for ice cream, visited Carla and Paul twice, put out a bird feeder, swept the garage what seems like 100 times, played with Lily, watched Duke eat T-Bone steak left overs, celebrated the kids birthday, Mothers Day and had a blast in general! So....with mixed emotions, I'll load up and head to Lewisville tomorrow morning, for two days of training, and then hit my desk on Wednesday. My new adventure begins...

Thanks to everyone that kept my spirits up during this time....you know who you are, and I love you!

Mother's Day....a day early!

We made our usual whirlwind holiday trip today.... First to Greenville, to visit Mary (mother in law) and clan. Had a nice lunch and visit.

Next stop....Mom and Dad's house in Emory. And there, we waited and waited and waited for Dad to get home. Ashley, Colton, Dylan and Colby went out to the Sale Barn and the boys LOVED it....didn't want to leave. Ashley brought Colby back to the house and took the boys BACK to watch the sale some more....Dylan wasn't too keen on the hot shot, but after explaining that it really wasn't hurting the cows (course we don't know that for sure....I mean I've NEVER had a hot shot put to my skin, have you?), all was great. After Dad got home and Mom got her two yellow rose bushes, we all loaded up and went to AJ's on Lake Fork. I'd say this is one of Colby's all time favorites, the boy loves him some buffet... Those attending were Mom, Dad, Colton, Dylan, Carla, Paul, Danny, Ashley and I. Notice a few names missing? Dallas and Chelsey had to get back to a birthday party, Tazz was at home sleeping after fishing in a tourney all day, Katelyn was studying for finals, and Morgan just didn't make it...
And....I got a purse from Vera Bradley and matching flip flops...a bracelet which is a replica of one that Jackie Kennedy used to wear, a beautiful card and book, gift card, and key faub. Great Mother's Day for me!
Only one thing could make it complete...........if Morgan would make a trip to Winnsboro and just give her sweet Mom a hug, that would make it a great Mother's Day for all of us.
I hear Danny snoring....or maybe it's Lily. I'm off to sleep a while.
Happy Mother's Day and thank you to Ashley, Chelsey and Colby for making it so special, I love you all!!!

Slacker...missed posting Thursday and Friday!

Thursday was spent finishing up my quest to clean up the house. All DONE....now, don't anyone move around here or something will be out of place! Finally threw in the towel on our azaleas and tore those suckers out along with the two yucca plants in the front of the house. Planted boxwoods (I don't think I will kill these!) and some other shrub in their place. Planted a few more flowers as well. After that, we took off for Denton to see the Girl's Softball team beat Kennedale in round one of a series....one step closer to a return to State!!! Prior to leaving, Danny sunned a little in his Speedo (yes, I said Speedo). Realtor called...sign will be up very soon (sigh).

Friday was up and out early, manicure, pedicure, eyebrow wax, oil change, and a little shopping. Danny had to pick Chelsey up from school, because I didn't make it back in time. Tootled around the house a little bit then took I off for Denton to see Celina beat Kennedale AGAIN!!! Area Champs, now on to Regionals... The boys won too, they plan again today, in Frisco. Would be great to see both teams advance to State.

Stopped at Mc Cocina in Plano to see old friends from Centex/Fox & Jacobs/CityHomes. We laughed and talked about all the trips we used to take, or as we called it, "The Good Ole Days."

Have a great day all, we're going to be celebrating Mother's Day. My request? Minnows, breakfast at Swaggers and fishing on Sunday. I'm easy!

Wow....class rings?

Chelsey and Colby came home from school with this order booklet...

Sure sign that the next two years are going to fly by!
Can hardly believe they will be Juniors next year.

My quest is almost complete!

Guest bedroom closet and laundry room clean....Paint touch up done! Realtor visited this afternoon. He's going to look at comps and give us his opinion on pricing tomorrow, then the sign goes up. I was in tears before he got out of the driveway, but I'll live!

Dinner tonight was sandwiches....Danny and the kids were definitely surprised, but it was easy for me to throw together. Guess I'll enjoy cooking dinner for them two more weeknights....before I return to work and commuting home at the time we've been eating dinner. Thinking about having the three of them come up with their own menu, one night each. We'll see how that goes...

Oh, also bought squash (yellow and zucchini), onions and cantalope plants this morning. Going to plant a mini garden in an old tractor tire. Photos to follow I'm sure.

Night,

A clean attic....

I'm sure your tired of my posts about cleaning out our house, but it helps me to see that I am making progress, so just stick with me until I finish! This morning, I hit the cabinets in our bathroom first thing. I'll bet I threw away 50 bottles of this and that, with a tablespoon of product remaining. Why did I even bother putting it back I the cabinet? Oh well....I can't be the only one that does this!

Next came the media room upstairs. Moved the couch, vaccumed, cleaned the sink, took out trash (actually let it roll down the stairs), and all is great up there now.

Next....the attic. Lord, even at about 10am, it was already roasty up there. Straightened as best I could. Organized all the extra floor tiles, paint, etc. And then shoved a few X-mas decorations around. Much better than before I started. Mom, have you ever cleaned your attic? :-)

Got a call from my new employer, NationStar mid morning, to come in for the formal offer process, get all the forms and take a Drug Test. Ran by the lab, before flying home (36 minutes from house to the office) to pick Chelsey up from school. I'm going to miss doing this, but am greatful that I got too for 10 weeks now....they will be driving soon, so it really has been my very last chance to do it.

Steaks on the grill (the kids dinner request), potatoes on the stove, salad, and grilled egg plant...YUM. Danny and I sat down to watch tv and the lotto projections came on, so......we loaded up and ran to Anna for lotto tickets. Just so you know, if we win, I'm NOT starting my new job Monday, LOL.

Tomorrow is the day the realtor we want to use returns from a Vegas Golf Trip. I'm positive he'll have a laundry list of things we still need to do to the house, just hope it's not a long one, as I'm running out of days off!!!

Off to watch the news....I hear the press is all over Rick Perry mentioning "Act of God" with the recent oil tanker spill. For goodness sakes....why doesn't he talk about something like getting rid of the freaking TAKS testing.
