Ashley and i have been following a blog for several days.... Thesimplewife.typepad.com. Tobin is the husband of Joanne, who was found on the floor by her youngest daughter, 19 days ago, and she was in siezure from a stroke. She'll be moved to a long term care facility today at 9am. It was supposed to happen yesterday, but they didnt have a helmet. You should read the stories her husband posts. Ashley and i have both cried over a complete stranger. It just hits really close to home....
For this reason....i have made a decision. Monday, on my way to Quitman, for Mom's retirement party, i am going to stop by and see Sunny. It has been many years.....i want to do this. She's missed out on 20+ years, and i plan to spend a little time catching her up on things. By the time i leave, she will know that she her daughter has a beautiful spirit and kind heart. I'll share that she fell on the ice at our apartment, got her foot stuck in the toilet, fell off the tall slide at the city park, loved to color, eat fresh veggies with ranch, spent some time in schools out of state, was a trooper as Dylan came into the world and i got to hold her hand, called me as i was putting on my makeup one morning to say that what would turn out to be Colton existed. That she was beautiful in her wedding dress...even when Tazz dropped her! And that she Texts me now with funny thhings about the boys. Makes my heart sing. There are so many stories to share. But i want Sunny to know that Ashley has been loved, as if she were my very own. If she has layed there for 20 years wondering, Monday she shall know.
Joanne may not know about her girls at this very moment, but Sunny will...Monday, yes Monday. I love you Ashley, with all of my heart!
Signed,
Mom 2
Oh, Pam. Thank you for posting. It made me cry. I have so many reasons to be thankful and I am truly blessed with a healthy family. I think about Sunny and Susan and what they have missed. Ashley has turned out to be such a beautiful lady. You and Danny did good! You are such a good mom. I love you and I will see you Monday.
ReplyDeleteI just went to the Thesimplewife.typepad.com blog. It is pretty emotional. Thanks for posting about it. I will keep up with it. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteI think about Sunny Sue alot, she comes up in conversations when I least expect it. Her accident was the same day Grand Pa Buster was buried. June 28, 1990 the 28th is also Kent's b'day. So many memories of her and life style at the time. I can't imagine who Ashley would be if not for you. She is 100% your daughter. That post makes me cry, I will wait on thesimplewife..love you for who you are to all of us...
