A winning weekend...

Well, as i type this, the Mavs are getting beat, but there were a couple of other wins......

Celina Lady Cats WON STATE yesterday......they beat West 5-1. I thought about going but was tired from getting in late Friday night. So...instead of listening to it in the computer, i took a two hour nap and missed the whole thing! I woke up to. Facebook post that ghey won it! Shelby was voted MVP. So proud of her! She just has a k ack for softball....a lot of fun to watch.

The next winner was Colton today.....that little guy did so good! He played on the All Star Team in McKinney at 1m today....yes, it was 100 degrees, but thank goodness the bleachers had a cover! He got a double and batted in 3 his second time at bat. I think we have many years of baseball watching with that kiddo. I also think Colton had the biggest fan crowd. ;-)

As for yesterday, Danny and i tried to bar hop last night. Chaucer's in Allen was the first stop. Chaucer's Suschi and Grill....i am NOT a sushi fan....fish was meant to be fried as far as i am concerened. We had an appetizer and headed down the road to The Venue Bar and Grill. One beer later i get a text that everyone is gathering at the high school to welcome the softball team home...so.....we bolt to Celina. The firetruck is there to spray water over the bus....several people were there to cheer when they unloaded from the bus. We also got to see the big State Champion Trophy! Then.....we headed to Anna, to Swaggers Bar and Grill....we get there and all the chairs are stacked on the tables. So...we head to Taco Bell, defeated by our attempt at a night out and their doors are locked. Soooooo....we get in the car and come home. And...the party was at OUR house. 20+ in the pool when we got here....so i popped a beer open and stayed up until 2am with all of them. We shouldnt have tried so hard to find a good place to relax....oir patio is the best spot within 20 miles.....i think we shall call it The Fenter Funny Farm Bar and Grill.

Soooo....next weekend we are going to the Catfish Races near Texoma....remember when we went last year and they had put tap water in the races lanes and all but one catfish had died? Maybe this year they will think to get lake water for the big races!

Congrats to Morgan and Robin!

Congrats to Robin and Morgan on your Graduation last night.....so proud of you! Now we get to be spectators as you start the next chapter of your life. Cant't wait...

Saturday re-cap...up and out to tan early. Back home to listen to the girls game on the computer. It went 11 innings tied 3-3 until Shelby hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the 11th. Yes, i did scream in my own living room! Today at 2pm they play for state. I think i shall watch it on our big screen instead of driving to Austin. After the game was over Chelsey and i ran to Frisco and back. Home at 5pm, which was just enough time to change and head to Emory. Home at 12:15am this morning. Another reason an 8+ hour round trip car ride does not sound too good today. Maybe Hooters will put just ONE of their 50 tv's on the game.

I wore myself out last weekend fishing, so this weekend i shall only spend a short time on the pier. Colton was selected for the All Stars in baseball, so tomorrow will be spent at a ball field in McKinney, can't wait to watch that little guy!

Have a great Saturday!

The last....

As i sit at home tonight, thinking about Morgan graduating tomorrow amd Celina Seniors graduating tonight, all i can think about is that everyday is "the last" with Chelsey and Colby....

Tomorrow when we wake up they will officially be Seniors. Never ever thought i'd make it to this day to type that. I know they will not disappear, go too terribly far, or forget their dear ole Mom....but it will be different in a year. Let me be very clear, i do NOT want to turn back time, i'd just like to slow it a bit, so we can savor every minute. The messy rooms, fights over gas money, Saturday school days, text asking "can you, will you, i need...", Sunday tv (Swamp people, LOL), requests for chicken and rice, watching colby eat a box of cereal just before dinner, watching Chelsey fret over her hair/clothes/shoes etc., and most of all the replies to their text every single morning, they always say "love you too" no matter what we may have had happen the night before. Soon i shall write about Senior pictures, notes in their final yearbook, ordering their cap and gowns, their last first day of high school, last football game, last Xmas as high schoolers, last Prom, last spring break....the list is endless, but my love for those two is not! My babies have grown up, and although not perfect, they are pretty dang good kids. In spite of their Daddy's blood. Hahahahaha...

Yep, i am feeliing a little old, a little sentimental and a little bit of pride tonight....next year at this time, we will be throwing a BIG PARTY!!!

Love you too Chelsey and Colby,

Mom

Memorial Day fun!

Megan...the Butterfinger Cake is almost gone! And i made it around lunch time today. I highly recommend it! And Kay, the pickles....YUM. So easy, and they were fabulous. I will share the easy recipe. One jar of dill sliced pickles 32 ounce. Drain all the juice off. Pour into a container that you can seal with a lid. Discard the juice, keep the pickles (that part cracked me up Kay). Add 2 cups of sugar, a tablespoon of minced garlic, and. Teaspoon of tobasco. I llet it sit on the counter for 2 hours and shook it all around to keep it stirred up. Then to the frig. They were wonderful! Almost all gone...Tyler's little brother, Brendon, said "Mrs Pam, you sure cook good!". J made chicken, sausage, corn, potato salad, beans, deviled eggs, cantalope, tomatoes, cucumbers, and the pickles and cake. Then.....i hit the lake to fish. Got some sun, fished with Tyler and the boys. Colton caught another huge crappie. He realed it in like it was no big deal. We managed to not "jack up" the rod and reels today. Had a blast....sent all the fish home with Tyler's grandpa Joe.

Now i am tired...so off to bed i go.

Love,
Pam (still the Black eyed P)

Those boys...

Dylan and Colton came home with us Saturday night and spent the night. They were in the pool until after 11pm. Both wanted to watch tv afterwards, so i put them in my bed, all propped up on pillows with the tv on and i went in 10 minutes later to check on them and both were cashed out. I moved Dylan to sleep with Danny and Colton slept with me. When i woke up yesterday morning, i had a black eye, well purple on the top, that is. I told Colton he must have done it. The look on his face....priceless! It was probably from going down the bouncey slide the day before, at the reunion, but i didnt tell him that! We left for breakfast at Swaggers and came back. I put hot dogs, hot links and sausage in a roaster pan, made broccoli salad, cream corn and baked beans and was on the pier with the boys by 1pm, after they swam for a while. We all caught a bunch of fish. I only came back to the house twice between 1pm and 8pm and that was for a bathroom break! We had a blast. Colton got his line all "jacked up" (his word not mine) so i unstrung it and fixed it. Then i drew back to throw it out and backlashed it again. He told his Daddy i did it!

They decided to spend the night again, so Ashley and Tazz went home and had quiet night #2. The boys fell asleep in my recliner and i put them to bed, but this time, i put Colton with Danny. We'll see if he has a black eye when he wakes up! Tyler fished with us too, amd played Uno with the boys tonight. I sure do love that kid! Colby went to a movie and Chelsey went to Celina's Bacculartte and spent the night with a friend afterward.

Today it's chicken, beans, potato salad and pickles! Kay sent me the recipe for her hot pickles. Love them! Headed to the store now to get the stuff to make me a jar. It's dill pickles, drained, add sugar, tobasco, garlic and something else... Have to look back at the recipe again. Oh, and i am going to make the butterfinger cake Megan posted. And after that? Well.....i think we will fish some more!

Happy Monday all!

To Austin!

Softball Team WON last night...exciting slide by Shelby at the bottom of the 7th won it 7-6..... I think everyone at the ball park was on their feet as she rounded third and the outfielder was throwing it home. And she Scored!!! Guess wewill be Austin bound next weekend.

Speaking of next weekend...Colton was picked for the All Star Team. He will play next Sunday. Cant wait to watch him!

Today is family reunion time, for The Fenter's. On the hunt for an easy recipe, maybe a salad of some sort. And Danny requested deviled eggs too.

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all,

Pam

Long weekend

Just have to make it thru today.....and then have a much needed long weekend! Looking forward to it. The softball girls won last night...one game between them and the state tournament that begins Thursday in Austin. They play in Allen this afternoon....2nd of a two game series, if they win, it's over, if we lose, game 3 to finish the series will be Saturday.

Today is Chelsey's last day of class. She's exempt from all her exams. Maybe she can help Colby study for all of his! Their Junior year has flown by.

Gotta hit the shower and go finish up May closings.

Have a nice weekend all

Pam
