A great Saturday!

Can't remember the last time I stayed home on a Saturday....Danny went to Colton's football at 8am in McKinney. The kids slept until eleven and I did nothing... Cooked an omelette, watched HGTV, played on my iPad, laid on the couch with Lily and finally took a shower after lunch time. Finally left the house at 7pm to find a patio and margarita. Ended up at Angelina's in The Colony, but it was still too hot for the patio. Have been thinking about how Danny and I could celebrate our 20th Anniversary at the end of next month....so...we drove out to The Gaylord Texan. I have been there before, but he had not. It is probably one of the most spectacular hotels I have ever been too, even cooler than those in Vegas. We walked around the shops, sat in a great sports bar (with reclining chairs) watching the Texas game on a gigantic tv, and then drove down to see The Glass Cactus nightclub. I think this is where we shall spend our anniversary... Also plan to take the boys out there for "Ice" this year, the theme is Charlie Brown. Have always wanted to go, this year I shall not procrastinate!

Today...I have 5 files to work on, a trip to the grocery store, oil change and Cowboys game tonight (from my own reclining chair). Sure do love weekends!

Hope everyone has a go one one as well. Aunt Sharon, your right, Megan has a lot of projects! Aunt Barbara, hope your enjoying the Kindle, Megan, can't wait to see the new place, Carla, hope you had a great weekend in the mud, Mom and Daddy...love u and to the visitors I am unsure of, Happy Sunday!

Just remembering......

I shall never forget exactly where I was 9 years ago this morning.....I was sitting in traffic, on my way to work, precisely at Preston Road and Legacy. On the radio....a plane has flown into one of the World Trade Center towers. I couldn't have been more surprised, except when I was actually watching when the space shuttle blew up before our eyes many years ago. My thought was oh my...how could that happen! It's not as it you can't see a building of that size. Never thought about it being a terrorist attack. Never....then I get to work, just as the second plane has hit the other tower. Everyone was crowded around the TV watching in horror as the story unfolded. Then the other plane hits the Pentagon and yet another crashes in a field. Again, unbelievable.... Danny and I were scheduled to go to Cacun on a Production Trip the first week of October....Chelsey, at the tender age of 7, looks at me one morning, after she's been watching yet another story on the news, and says "Mommy, please don't get on a plane.". I called the next day and cancelled our attendance of the trip, so many did so, that the entire trip was cancelled and changed to Vegas at a later date.

At the age of 7, I remember not having many cares in the world, except a baby sister that I adored, a pony to ride and probably passing 2nd grade. Never a worry about terrorist or Mom and Daddy getting on a plane. I guess life was very simple back then. I read the Dallas paper this morning, and see photos of a Lady telling her husband and 1 year old goodbye as she is about to board a plane to Qatar. Not exactly sure where that is....but positive it's not a safe place. Can't imagine being her!

So......as I sit on my nice quiet patio.....enjoying a cup of coffee, I think about all the Mom's out there that are not exactly sure where their children are, but know they are standing up for our country. Makes me sad, but also gives me piece of mind that Chelsey and Colby are sleeping right here at home.

A few years ago we did a family vacation to Vermont. We flew into NY to change planes. Chelsey and I looked out the plane window as it made it's landing approach and could see the hole that would be called ground zero. Another sight I shall never forget. Didn't get to visit the site, but just a view from the plane window was enough to bring a tear to my eye.

A guy on the plane that went down in the Pennsylvania field said the words "Let's roll" and that was the very last words his wife ever heard him say..... Again, can't imagine! Makes me grateful for all the things I have....even if life gets tough at times....we still "roll."

I know this is a very strange post, but I'm just typing as I think about it all...crazy to have such a heavy heart, for something that happened 9 years ago, but also positive that I'm not the only one!

A great game and a ticket....

So......today one kid got a ticket and the other did not! Your first guess would be incorrect on the "winner".

Next! Celina 56 Pilot Point 35!!!!!! Was a great rough and tumble game. They had several on crutches by the end of the game. Hehe...

Glad it's the weekend. Hope everyone has a good one!

Colby....(Post #3 tonight)

No words to describe....picture says it all!

Bleacher babes (Post #2 tonight)

Okay....figured out that I had picture in html instead of jpg (sound just like I know what I'm talking about huh?)....Chelsey and Haley in their "Bleacher Babes" TShirts. Of course the back of Chelsey's has #40 for DR.... Now, be sure you read my first post from tonight as well. Posting twice, makes up for missing a week!

Hello out there...

Yes...I've been lazy, and missed several days of blogging. Quickly, to catch you up; Friday night, Varsity kicked Prestonwood's tail in football, Saturday a little shopping with Chelsey, Sunday Ashley and the boys came over and we cooked burgers and hot dogs (and this terrible Nana fell asleep on the couch), Sunday Danny and I mowed after our Starbucks run. I actually got a little sun....as I mowed with the PUSH MOWER. Danny is on the zero turn mower and I'm pushing away, at the front yard. I think I shall insist we switch next time. Just a couple of photos to share, Colby being serious and Dallas joking around (LOL, you'll see that I'm kidding)

Colby at football photo/media day, if he doesn't
make it big at football, maybe he'll be a comedian,
and his Mom can retire and laugh right along with him.
And a really good picture of Dallas as the team ran out on the field
Friday night. He played well! Love those Friday Night Lights!
Tried to upload a picture of Chelsey and her friend in their pink "Bleacher Babe" T-shirts, but of course it's not working correctly. Why is it that I have NO problems, unless the photo is of Chelsey. Remember last week when she was cooking? Same problem tonight!
According to my Facebook friend, Rebecca Miller (Channel 33), there is a huge fire in California...possible plane crash is being reported. Guess we'll see. The weather has been RAIN and RAINbows this week....lots of rain. Took me an hour and 40 minutes to get to work yesterday morning. Probably could have walked faster! Oh well, least it was a safe round trip, even in the storms....
Have a great Friday all, I plan too! We play Pilot Point (can you smell the rivalry?) tomorrow night. Can hardly wait. Colby's game was cancelled tonight, since PP has a grass field and not turf. It would have been interesting in the mud!
XOXO,
Pam
P.S. Mom, I hope you got my message.

Week 1 of Friday Night Lights and other things...

Have to be quick.....football game in 54 minutes.....

Chelsey TWO 100's in Physics this week. She's fretting that she may not be able to make it in this class......we should all have such worries!

Colby and crew won 40-0 last night, in the rain and under a rainbow. Was a big time blow out! And, he made a 75 on a Math quiz, he was smiling. Notice the difference in the two? I promise they really are twins, or at least Danny confirms it, as I was asleep with they arrived 16+ years ago.

Danny got the JOB....he starts on the 13th. Makes me kinda sad that if I should take a day off, he will not be home with me.

I have had a HECK of a week again, but I turned that frown upside down today and had a good one. Read a FB post the other day "Some days your the dog and other days your the hydrant." Going to try and stay away from hydrants!

Three day weekend with not a plan at all.....except maybe Starbucks and a nap or two. They say 50 degrees in the morning. Summer just goes away in the blink of an eye! Could just be Road Trip tme for Danny and I again....

XOXO,
Have a great weekend, I plan too!
Pam

P.S. Geez...almost forgot to comment about Friday Night Lights....we play Prestonwood at home tonight. Of course I'm in orange as I head out the door! Hope Dallas gets a sack tonight....since I'll be there to see it this time!
