More Birthday Photos....

Danny and Dylan on the Sky Coaster

Hard to believe 9 years have passed since I was in the hospital room
as this little bundle of joy arrived,
he curled up in a ball and slept on my shoulder many times,
Ashley and I had a fight or two over him,
he grew and started calling me Nana,
he lost his Daddy to early to even remember him,
He's a bit strong willed (compliments of his Mom I'm sure)
but he's oh so special to Danny, Colby, Chelsey and I.
We love you Dylan, Happy Birthday!

One year of blogging....

I realized today, that tomorrow will be one year since I started our blog....I've written about Chelsey and Colby, Danny, the dogs, the house, friends, special events, relatives, Bingo, several holidays, and get togethers..... Never did I mention work on the blog, no matter how great or how stressful, I've just never gone there on our personal space called The Fenter Funny Farm.

The funny thing is, I have only recently realized that The Fenter Funny Farm has been flying by me at mach speed for so many years, and I was working my tail off, making sure that everyone had what they wanted, everything was just so so, and never considered what I had missed out on.

As I sit typing this, I have tears streaming down my face....maybe it's the sad song on the ACM's, but I really think it's all about the past that happened, and I never stopped to enjoy it.

In the last 7 1/2 weeks, I've watched TV (without other things on my mind), enjoyed precious time with my husband, had breakfast at Starbucks (in sweats), joked and laughed with the kids (and a fight or two as well), had warm cookies waiting when they arrive home from school, enjoyed a track meet or two, painted a few things, driven with my windows down (who cares about the hair), am now certain what day the trash is picked up, have gone days/weeks without wearing black slacks, spent fun time with the one of the most fabulous daughter's in the world (Ashley), visited the school, planted flowers, trimmed trees, enjoyed lunch with my beautiful sister, driven the tractor, had dinner with Mom and Dad on a week night, created and burned brush piles, kissed Dylan and Colton before they left for school, washed many dishes, cooked many meals, actually walked into Chelsey and Colby's room more than once in a blue moon, bought cheap paper towels, taken the kids to school and even picked them up, folded WARM laundry, used coupons, laughed a little more, cried a little harder, worried about things other than my job, and have (as the song says, from my all time favorite movie, Dirty Dancing) "Had the Time of my Life."

I know that my time at home will come to an end soon, but I shall never let myself get so wrapped up in something, that I forget what is important....The Fenter Funny Farm and all that it encompasses.... Oh, I'll focus and work hard, no matter where I land, but I'll also stop and smell the roses, stand in the rain, and love everything and everyone I hold dear.

Happy Birthday to our blog....thanks for allowing me to record memories, that I was not always a part of, and I can't wait to fill more pages....

Rainy, lazy cold Sunday...

Breakfast, nap, grocery store, dinner, in that order. Anyone want to wash all the dishes, while I watch tv? Didn't think so...

XOXO,
Pam

P.S. Grocery store of choice today was Kroger. I haven't been in 2 weeks, so I had a cart FULL of groceries....get up to the register, someone helps me unload to the belt, checker is really speedy, two people sacking. Now, mind you, I arrived at the register with one card, but by the time they put 2-3 things per sack (not cost effective on bags!), it takes two carts to get me to the car. After getting everything bagged, the girl looks at me and asks if I need help out. Okay I have TWO carts, so my answer was "Yes...please." She takes one cart, I take the other and when we get to the car, she looks at me and asks... "Need help loading it into the car?" I was just agitated enough to say "NO thank you." I swear, this is the reason I cut Kroger off from the Fenter Funny Farm a few years ago....BUT they had steak on sale, so I suffered thru it.

Can't believe our sweet Dylan is 9 now.... Ashley is forwarding pictures of the party, so watch for an updated post.

I spent the morning with my friend Kyle, her twins Olivia and Brody (they are 4 now) and Gracen who turned 10 recently. Their neighborhood garage sale was in full swing, even in the rain. Brody grabbed a dollar and said "I want to go shooopppinnnnggg Mrs. Pam." So off we went. Ran to McKinney then came home to watch it rain some more. Dinner with Colby and Danny, and fast asleep by 11pm.

A bit tired...

After 4 days....Danny and Duke are tired. Lily and Duke
have made every step with us this week, in the tree trimming,
fence line cleaning, flower planting, fertilizing, etc.
Everything looks great, so well worth all the effort!

SSSSsssssss.....

Ashley's new shrubs!

Applied for a couple more jobs on line this morning, first thing. Took Chelsey and Colby to school, then headed to McKinney. Ashley and I met at Starbucks, then off to Calloway's Nursery, to buy shrubs for her flower bed. After getting just what she wanted, we headed to her house to plant. I started out by setting all the plants in place (still in the pots), just as we'd planned them. While doing so, I hear SSSSSssssssss. I looked at Ashley, mind you she has dug this flower bed up TWICE due to a water leak, and said "I think the leak is back!" We open the box and like a fountain, water shoots out. We run and turn off the water at the street, I call Danny and she calls Tazz. While waiting to hear back, we plant at both ends of the flower bed. I head home...and help Danny, Aloya, and Homer finish up with the tree cutting/trimming. I'm now glad to say that Ashley just sent a picture mail, above, that the leak is fixed AGAIN, and she has now planted all the shrubs. Let's hope third time is a charm. I've heard her curse before, but WOW, she was not a happy Ashley when we discovered it today....
