Where in the world is Celina, Texas?

I asked myself that 11 years ago, when we were living in Greenville, and decided to move a little closer to DFW, to lessen my commute to and from work.... While looking over the Dallas paper, I saw one property that seemed to just fit our needs. This was on a Saturday in April of 1998, so we called the number, got in the car and headed west on 380, turning North on HWY 289/Preston Road and less than 10 miles away was the beginning of our new adventure. Danny and I both liked the house (the kids liked the pool) so we returned the next day and wrote a contract, closing was May of 1998. We packed up our things in Greenville, and began our life in orange!

Celina is known for Friday night Football and the whole town turns out for the games, well most do anyway. Everyone hopes to play until Xmas, and that has been the case for many years. We watched them win 68 straight games the first 4 years we were here! This past season, Colby suited up and was part of the final State Game at Texas Stadium. Although they didn't win, it was a thrill, as always, to see all that orange out on the field, and an added attraction to see Colby out there too!

I've yet to answer exactly where Celina is, so here is a map, we've moved since purchasing our first home here (see post), the red star is approximately where our current home is, Celina is just 6 miles West. It's funny that Pilot Point (a rival town) shows up but not Celina...

Hopefully this gives you a sense of direction. We love it! Come see us sometime...

Firecracker Chelsey!

Chelsey has a few passions.... Her cell phone, her friends, sleep, running, and softball. Notice I didn't say her brother. Here's a recent picture of our beautiful girl! She'll surely not be happy over this post, but there's not a dang thing she can do about it! Love you sweety! :-)

Our home....

Thought I'd share a couple of photos of our home that we built and moved into 2 1/2 years ago. It sits near the back of our 34 acres, and the patio view is of a 30 acre lake. It's relaxing and FABULOUS!

Come see us sometime!

"I AM SELLING THEM!"

Danny's exact words "I AM SELLING THEM!" No, not the kids, the four wheelers! I can't imagine why, after all, it's only a little mud... Everytime it rains, this is what happens. Their friends join in and we have one heck of a mess. Maybe we'll have a drought, and get to keep them. After all, they have been flipped into the lake, one ran over the back of the other, front guards replaced, more flats that I could possibly count, ridden in the creek beds, flipped over trying to drive up a tree that had fallen, spent several weeks at the repair shop.... the list is endless. This is why we live in the country.....

Their favorite mud hole, on one side of our property

Just a few muddy clothes
Muddy shoes....
A little mud on the driveway...
Just a little mud EVERYWHERE!!

Colby then and now...

Thought I'd post an interesting picture....

The cute little preemie outfit is what we brought just over 4 pound Colby home from the hospital in 15 years ago.... The foot to the left is his! He wears a size 16 shoe at the moment, and I'm afraid he's not finished yet! I'm sure this blog will be filled with many antics involving Colby, so stay tuned!

Day one....

After spending hours looking at blogs, some that I knew and some complete strangers, I have pondered.... Just how does one "start" a blog? Our children are 26, 15 and 15. Grandsons are 8 and 5. We've had our three dogs for a while. We've been in our new house for 2 1/2 years. Danny and I have been married for 18 1/2 years. I just can't see a good reason for "starting" a blog. THIS my friends is the reason for our Blog name. "The Fenter Funny Farm" is a NEW adventure all the time, so please watch for future posts, pictures, funny stories, and our NEW adventures.....

XOXO, Danny, Pam, Colby and Chelsey
