This morning I felt yet another pain with the kids....The first Saturday after Two-A-Days start is "pad day." This is the first time, after running, stretching, lifting, puking, all week long, they actually put their pads on and hit someone. The stands have about 100 or so people watching. It's REALLY fun to watch. Unless your me, sitting there thinking that everything I watch Dallas do this year, will be the last....and everything that Colby does this year, will be the next to last.... I can't believe the kids will start school in a little over a week and a half as Juniors!
After practice, I text Colby and said "I LOVE to watch you hit and I LOVE you!!!"
He replied with "Did I do good?" I said "YES....can't believe this is your next to last set of Two-A-Days."
He replied with "I know Mom, High School is going really fast, only two years left."
By this time, tears had formed in my eyes and I replied "I know Son, I know." I just couldn't type anything else.
Just a few pictures of the event......
Colby (left in white, kneeling) and Dallas (right in orange, kneeling)
Everyone getting ready to hit!!!
And the smashing begins! Not sure my heart can stand very many more texts like that with Colby.....and how I'll do this year as I watch Dallas finish out High School, and Chelsey and Colby get one day closer, every day, to their Senior Year.
XOXO,
Pam
