Pleeasseee Mom....

Ever hear those words? "Pleeasseee Mom." Well today those two words came with a whole new meaning, as I took Chelsey to "look" at something for her to call her own and DRIVE in the next few months... Went by the Jeep Dealership, "NO Mom." The kid actually thought we were going to look at a Mercedes, isn't she a funny girl. We leave the Jeep lot (without even getting out of the car) and head to the Hummer Dealership, that's then the "Pleeasseee Mom" started. We did find a nice pre-owned, still pondering, but I have to say, Danny didn't say the quick NO that I anticipated. What do you think?

We shall see if THIS is the ride she ends up with..... Might be pretty with a big bow on it, but then again, so would that 4 door Jeep I've had my eye on. Or the VW Beetle (like I had), just not a tan one! And, in case your wondering, Colby just wants his Daddy's truck, which is a big black Chevy 4 x 4 with a lift kit on it that makes it near impossible to just "jump in and jump out of." I just want them both safe when they hit the road, and if size matters, both should be covered this way. And, I'm sure our insurance company will send us a fruit basket after we call and add them, once they both turn 16 on the same day and get their license.... (sigh)

Chelsey at Dick's Last Resort....

This is worth posting, just to show off Chelsey's hat..... One of her best buddies, Haley, had her birthday party at Dick's Last Resort at The West End. It's a fun place, and the hat is a sample....

Needless to say they had a blast. Even had her standing in a chair dancing.....

6 Foot tall and full of it!!!

Anyone who saw Colby when he was just a few days old would surely have never guessed that someday that 4 pound little boy would be 6 foot tall.... Doctor's predicted he'd be at least 6' 2" and dang if they may not just be correct! Here's a shot to show just the size of this boy, who told us that he had 10 eggrolls as a snack today! Gotta love it! You'll look really close and see that there are NO sheets on his bed.... We have them, he just prefers to not sleep with them on the bed, and notice the comforter? Both of them? I gave up trying to get him to do anything different a long time ago. That's our boy....

Upside down?

Anyone else bought one of those upside down tomato plant growers? It's called "Topsy Turvy" and I just can't be the only one that had to try it! While Ashley and the boys were here on Mother's Day, she helped me plant (or hang shall I say), not one, but TWO upside down tomato plants. Let's just see how it goes. Stay tuned for updates and let's see if the two that I bought Daddy for a belated birthday gift out grow ours.... With Mom's green thumb, I'm sure I'll not ever be able to keep up!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year consisted of two days.... Saturday Danny and I hit the road to Greenville and had lunch with Mary Hendrix (his Mom), his sister Susan and her husband Donny and his sister Judy. From there we met Mom, Dad, (yes my parents, James and Mary Helen), sister Carla and her husband Paul for steaks. This allowed me to be home Sunday for Tazz, Ashley, Colton and Dylan to come over and Chef Danny cooked breakfast for all of us! It is always fun to have the boys over. We did bubbles in the yard, played ping pong (the boys ran me to death, hitting the ball all over the place), and just hung out till noon. I got cards, a gift card, and nifty smell good candles. They left and I had my Sunday nap. My Mother's Day present from Danny and the kids? Drum roll.... Danny's going to have my flower beds all cleaned out. Notice there is no photo? Well, let's just say I've worked a lot lately and weeds have not been on my mind! Maybe an "after" picture, once they are all cleaned up. I can hardly wait to get it done...

Hard to believe another Mother's Day has come and gone. I'm thankful to have both my parents, Carla, Paul and Danny's Mom, Susan, Donny and Judy to celebrate such occassions with. And oh so thankful that I'm a Mom to enjoy being dotted on. Ashley, Chelsey and Colby are a bright spot in my life, one that I love more than I can possibly share. And I can't forget Danny, love you!

The pier is BACK!!!

For anyone wondering about the pier.... Here's an update. Water finally went down and we now have a pier again. Can't wait to fish from it. Bought my Farmer's Almanac, and now I have the projected dates, which is 3 days prior to a full moon and 3 days after a full moon if your wondering, for good, fair and poor fishing conditions. Have used this in the past and it really works. Maybe my next post will be of a stringer of fish!

Why do you have a dump truck in your back yard?

Interesting title for a post huh? Well.... Let me give you the short version of our dump truck. Danny and another property owner near us decided to have some dirt removed from our lake (very long story), so this dump truck was used by the company he hired. That was about TWO years ago..... You see, after the job was complete, they left the truck behind. I thought for sure the cops would show up one day and arrest us for stollen property! We've have been asked no less than 100 times about it, and as of tonight, I'm pleased to say that it's GONE. Danny obtained the title from the owner, and sold it! Here's a picture, just for grins, so we can say that at one point, we had one.
