To Tyler and back

Made the round trip today, to see Dad. He looked good. Cat napped on and off. Ate birthday cake. Ate chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy. I think he looked a lot better today, than last Sunday when i saw him. Dr said have to get him better, before they can figure out what the spot is on his lung.

On the way i saw tons of bluebonnets. Also saw the Extreme Makeover House in Mineola. Looks pretty neat, but i didnt like the turquoise doors very much.

Just put up the rod and reels. Everyone but me was catching fish! It's not usually that way...

Happy birthday Dad,

Love you,
Pam

Happy Birthday Daddy!

No one should have to celebrate their 70th birthday in the hospital, but it appears that is what we will do today, with Daddy. I talked to Mom last night. She said she spent the day rounding up all his medical records from Emory, SS, Mt Pleasant and Winnsboro. All are being reviewed by the doctors in Tyler. They pulled fluid off his lungs yesterday to test. She was also told that they do not see anything indicating a biopsy was done. Humm....that's sorta what started all this, or so we thought. Headed there in a couple of hours to see what's up. Dad says "no gifts" of course. We'll have to find him something, just not sure what that will be!

As for this week, just busy finishing up month end. Record month of closings!

TTFN, going to hit the shower after i finish my coffee.

Love to all, and thanks for your continued prayers, we just want Dad well, so he can come home!

Tyler...

Update: today Dad was moved to Tyler. He's in Mother Francis Hospital, in their continuing care unit. He'll be there for about 3 weeks, while they continue treatment for the infection in his lungs, as well as get him back on track with his oxygen levels.

Looks like it will be a while, before we can go fishing and his Birthday is definately going to be different than originally planned, but the important thing is that he gets well.

Thank you to Uncle Raymond for giving Mom a break tonight.

Love to all,
Pam

They moved him

Okay...confirmed, Dad was moved to room 309, so he switched from the 4th floor, down to 3rd. Carla went for a visit after work, so we'll watch her blog for an update. Mom is spending the night, i believe. Hope he can rest better tonight and that Mom has a soft chair to sleep in.

I may make a round trip after work tomorrow........hard being so damn far away!

Noon update

I talked to Mom about 30 minutes ago. They are going to move Dad back to the 3rd floor. Not ICU, but down where other COPD patients are. He's tired and hasn't eatten his breakfast, but has drank a milk shake packed full of vitamins. Will check on them in a little while.

Morning check in

i called the nurses station this morning and they said Dad didnt rest too well. He told the nurse that he was tired. They plan to give him stronger meds tonight, so he'll sleep better. The good news is, they moved a monitor in him room, and during the night, each time the nurse checked on him, he was at 90 or above. Although Carla and i can't see the monitor when we are away from the hospital, it makes us both feel better that it is there. He left ICU, which is great, but it feels like we left our security blanket behind....

Round trip Sunday

Danny, Chelsey, Colby and i made a round trip to see Dad today. He was moved out of ICU about an hour after we arrived. Really good to see him continue to improve. The only thing that has me a little wound up, is that they left the machine that monitors his bp, oxygen, breaths per minute, in ICU. Carla is there as i type this and he is at 93, so that makes me feel a little better. Wonder if i call ICU and ask for William, he would go check on him tonight?

Again, thanks for all the prayers.......he's doing much better.
